I had a really good bicep/tricep workout yesterday and my arms are sore today. Would it be bad to workout shoulders today? I know that shoulder exercises involve the triceps so I don't want to ruin yesterday's workout..

I really like to do a lot of heavy military pressing, and so I will either group Triceps/Shoulders together or leave a day or two of rest between workouts. Your deltoids are a small muscle group and do not need a lot of volume to grow.

Some guys can train with an overlapped routine and make progress, and some can't. You're really the only person in a position to judge whether or not this is negatively affecting your shoulder and/or triceps training.
If you're making steady progress with both bodyparts, I'd say you're good to go. If you're not making progress in one or both, then change your routine around until you see the gains you expect to see.No brain, no gain.

well this is part of a brand new split. i'm used to doing cardio the day before shoulders.
i can do legs instead today and do shoulders tomorrow, giving my triceps 2 days to heal. does that sound better? if i did that though my shoulders and chest days would be back-to-back. and if you guys think that's a problem, i can just add a rest day in between chest and shoulders since i don't have one. thoughts?
