-I have a really short upper body and long legs. (bad genetics). Im finally getting some progress in my legs. My calves still suck though.

Have you tried hitting legs twice a week? I have a short torso/ long legs and it helped me greatly with the growth of my quads. Strength increased ten fold as well.
Also don't say that you have bad genetics, people like us with shorter torso's and longer legs can run really fast and jump high, just look at Olympic sprinters.
