When it comes to supplements I have always kept it pretty simple, protein and multi-v. I'm by no means a gym or supplement expert so I'm looking for advice. I've decided to try Insanity for the first time. It is a little more intense than I thought it would be and working out first thing in the morning before work, I'm looking for a boost.
Browsing the site I see the same pre workouts recommended, white flood, NO explode, craze, etc etc. Is there a pre-workout that would be better for more cardio based workouts or is a pre-workout a pre-workout?
Thanks

i feel like the ingredients you would want to focus on for that style of exercise would be beta-alanine, creatine, citrulline malate and caffeine
you could get them in bulk or buy a product that utilized these
your heart rate will likely be really elevated, so you don't need to go heavy on the stimsself-proclaimed huguenot

There are a ton of preworkouts available and really there isn't an "All in one" product because different people prefer different ingredients based off their training goal.
With that said check out Uncut by Applied Nutriceuticals. I'm a rep yes. My job is to rep the company and products. With that said I used this product before being a rep and loved it with my first use and on. The energy, endurance, strength and focus I got was top tier and what I look for in a preworkout. Don't even take my word for it. Hit me up with a PM and i'll send you out a trial bottle to test out for yourself. My training log: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=178464441

I've heard a lot of people say that Cardio Igniter does wonders for them when running or doing HIIT.

With the way I understand Insanity to work I wouldn't suggest anything to heavy on the stims, because you don't want to increase your heart rate to much. I'd look into something stim free even like Body Octane that will aid in endurance. If you wanted the stim kick for help you could throw in as much or as little stim as you wanted.
Supplement a good diet: don't diet on supplements.

For something like that, Starkk is right on with the ingredients listed. Also, like stated, don't go with something super heavy on the stims because your heart rate will be elevated quite a bit already.
A few recommendations would be:
1. Genomyx Origin: Has a nice dose of citruilline and TMG which promote endurance and output increase. Also, it has caffeine malate + theanine + rhiodola which provides a nice, clean boost without the jitters or intense heart rate elevation. You can stack this with Genomyx Protocol for some great endurance.
2. Gaspari SuperPump Max: Just use 1 scoop for what you are doing. It's lighter on the stims when dosed at 1 scoop, and has a nice dose of citruilline to help promote endurance.
Those would be my two recommendations.http://www.haleo.com/

Some good info in here. I would stay away from things that have "pump" ingredients. Can make it real hard to do cardio sometimes. Pumps slow you down before actual muscle fatigue. I use Neurosurge on cardio training days.
