Started Cut, am I hindering myself?

I started my cut at 180 pounds which I bulked to on 3500-4000 cals

Im 4 days in lost 6 pounds (assuming water weight) I wasnt expecting to drop to 174 so quickly figuring it took what felt like almost a year to gain 20 pounds.

My current goal is to lose some bf, become more aesthetic. obviously my body comp hasn't changed in these 4 days but again referring to losing weight quickly I was hoping NOT to go down to the 160s which I feel I may have to do..At least the high 60s

I been cutting on 2500-3000 cals (getting roughly 2700 these past 4 days)

I plan to take some more recent pics later today or tomorrow

    http://my.bodybuilding.com/community.../type/progress

^if the link works its to my bodyspace pics which are about 2 months old

So what Im asking is am I wasting my time? Do I have enough mass to cut?
the plan was to re-bulk slower after the cut

It's your choice, but at 6', you're going to look thin at the 160's.
    No brain, no gain.

"The fitness and nutrition world is a breeding ground for obsessive-compulsive behavior. The irony is that many of the things people worry about have no impact on results either way, and therefore aren't worth an ounce of concern."--Alan Aragon

not trying to be a dick but at those lifting stats I would bulk and gain some more muscle before a cut.

I'd definitely keep bulking and get those lifts up. I'm not allowing myself to cut until I get my bench up to 260.

May I ask why you feel the need to do this short cut?

Agree about bulking OP: you cannot fear the fat. If your goal is truly aesthetics, you have to look toward the future. That is you put the muscle on, thick, and when you cut you will look like a warrior. Otherwise, you might look like this:

Hint: you do not want to look like this ^^^

Abs are over rated man, get a lean bulk on and get some juicy body parts, worry about a "flat" stomach later, dont worry about it.
    Eat the damn yolk.
