    Desperate! Dairy free weight gainer?

Hi all, I just registered here and forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong place.

I'm a female, 5'6" and currently weigh about 100 pounds. According to the BMI calculator, I should be around 115 pounds to be at a healthy weight.

I've searched around the forum for dairy free weight gainers but haven't seen any posts with a situation similar to mine.

I was about 95 pounds a few months ago and gained about 7 pounds making me 102, the heaviest I've been. I was eating lots of dairy products everyday and was excited to be gaining weight. However, I started to notice my skin was getting really bad and was getting breakouts.

I decided to stop dairy to see if maybe that was what was causing the breakout, and sure enough, my breakouts did stop and my skin was great again, so I'm sure the dairy was the problem. I didn't have any stomach issues though that many people experience with dairy. Skin was the only problem.

However, now that I've stopped dairy, I lost 2 pounds and it's depressing to see the scale going down every day.

I went to the vitamin shop and asked the sales person for any dairy free weight gainer, and he said the only thing he could think of was Isopure. He said it had dairy in it, but it was, I think isolate dairy?? Not sure.

Has anyone tried Isopure? And would you recommend it in my situation?
It seems there are no dairy free weight gainers, but if any of know of any, please share. I'm desperate!
And if you have any other tips, please let me know, I'd appreciate it.

P.S. I don't think lactose free is any good. It has to be dairy free.

The breakouts are unrelated. Whey protein isolate is free of lactose.

For a gainer, mix whey protein with some peanut butter and olive oil. Use water if you have to, though I find it strange that dairy would be the cause of said events.

NOW Whey Isolate is unflavored and quite cheap. Allows you to add your own flavors to it.

You can always go with Unflav. Egg white protein....since it will be a home weight gainer you can really mask the flavor/taste of the egg white protein by adding Oats, Banana, Cocoa powder, natural peanut butter and even ice cream depending on how fast and how clean you want your gainer to be. Chances are It's something you have to make yourself and can't be bought in stores do to the dairy issue which is not a problem since home gainers are very easy to make. You got any questions shoot me a pm and I'll help you out

    Thanks guys.

I also found it strange that dairy would be the cause of breakouts, but looking online, it seems it is quite common.

Also, are there any pills or something that can increase appetite? I think I'm asking for a magic pill, but wanted to ask anyway.

And thanks GymRat, I definitely will pm you if I need help.

Nah, there's no pill. CL Black Hole has mixed reviews, and functions through the cannibanoid receptor targeting to stimulate hunger (sorry if I screwed that up CL reps). But other than that there's no appetite increasing supplement.

Your best bet would be to eat more calorie-dense foods. Oats, nuts, avacados, etc. 2 avacados = 500 calories, 2 tbsp peanut butter = 200 calories. Adds up quick.

Basically this. Protein is protein. Meet your macro and caloric requirements and you're set. You don't need a gainer to gain weight.
