I think leangains said to take BCAA's post workout. I havn't been taking them. Will not taking BCAA's before workouts kill my results?

No, BCAAs are a waste of money.
People who say otherwise are either trying to sell them to you or people who've been suckered into it by the industry.
IF or otherwise, it's cheaper and smarter to get your protein (amino acids) from whole food - or honestly even whey if you need something quick and convenient.

I understand that if everything is on dot that BCAA will not be needed, but me and many other people feel that they have their place in fasted workouts where leucine could be supplemented to prevent muscle loss.
do you have anything to backup your claim that they are useless?

Supposedly taking a half scoop of protein 30 minutes pre workout would have roughly the same effect as taking BCAAs 10 minutes (or however long you were told) pre workout. I can't vouch for this being true, but it's what I've been told. I stopped training fasted anyways.

Starting IF again after realizing I'm lazier whn not on IF.
I use to train fasted and felt good and energized. Took a scoop of whey felt like ****.
Trying to decide whether to take BCAA's or not. Cuz they esppensifffee

One could recommend BCAA solely for it's very fast digestion rate. A very important point in taking BCAA:s PWO is to raise the insulin level (it's the energy transporter).
BCAA is an important element in the Leangains protocol since it is considered 0kcal and will therefore not break your fast.

yer you need to take bcaa's preworkout and make sure you take your 100% hydrolyzed whey after you very last rep of your workout otherwise you will be majorly catabolic....not srz

It's not 0kcal eventhough it bypasses FDA regulations since these aminos are already broken down and allowed to report 0. It's also not 20 cal per 5 grams like some think solely because 1 g of protein = 4 cals. It's somewhere in between.
Also, its not a 'necessary' supplement at all under any diet under any conditions.
With that being said, I like the supplement because it's the lowest cal source of extra protein out there, I like the taste, and its easy enough to have anywhere with your water.

Workout fasted without BCAA's and then do it with BCAA's.
I don't care what science, or broscience or anyone has to say. I can work out SO much longer fasted with BCAA's and it's not at all mental.

If you are consuming an adequate amount of dietary protein - they don't do a damn thing.
They're 4 kcals per gram ... that's it.

If you like pissing your money away, more power to you ... knock yourself out. I'm not gonna apologize for pointing out that it would be cheaper and more satiating for you to eat a small wad of deli meat before your workout.

That's a bit apples vs oranges question. The vast majority of non animal protein is incomplete. Meaning it does not contain all essential amino acids. The better question is would you see a difference eating eggs/meat vs eating amino acids. I suspect the answer is no.
I believe Martin recommends them for the fasted training protocol because you can get a large amount of Amino's for very few calories. Somewhat not breaking the fast. So if you believe not breaking the fast will improve your physique take the BCAA's, if not eat some protein.
For what it's worth I think Pbateman had a thread in the nutrition section and after testing fairly extensively both ways he came down to they made little if any difference for him.My Reverse Diet Log

And some of us just like to train in a non-fasted state period.
I do my absolute best lifting 2-3 hours after a maginally-fatty, protein and carb filled meal.
