    I guess some people have different interpretations of "good sources of protein". If I was a member of the ****li Fruitarian Society, I guess I might consider 17g in 480 calories a good dose of protein.

    Only really salty things sound edible to me right now. Or maybe a chocolate malt/blizzard/froyo type thing.

    I never specified competing in what. You just assumed bodybuilding. I just made a general statement about competing, be it sport or aesthetics. Unless you've actually experienced the massive differences between eating dirty and clean, you can't really comment aside from theory. And I stated that both methods work, there just seem to be advantages to the clean method, namely satiety and performance.

    I think it's just the whole idea of wanting people to think you are superior. In America, we have such a high standard and compare everything and everyone. Case in point: How many basketball players ever will be as good as Michael Jordan? Michael Jordan. But we want to compare everything to show people that we think he is better. So people who try to write off accusations as "Jealousy" are people who are trying to plant the seed in you that you are inferior to them/you aren't as good as them because they "aren't" juicing, but you could never look like them because of "Genetics". Yes, genetics come in to play, but take a look at some of the greatest BBers of all time. You think Ronnie Coleman would have looked that good without running obscene amounts of juice? No way, look at his pics now that he's off, he doesn't have naturally good muscle bellies and honestly, he kinda looks like chit. So basically, I think it's a superiority complex thing, along with a bit of a mental game.

    And no, I don't think 90% of youtube "fitness" community is natural. PMing you...

    I was only being half serious here, but still, I was probably speaking more generally. Whether it's college kids popping ******** to perform better on tests or bodybuilders taking steroids...many "competitive people" ride bicycles. In most cases, I say to each his own.

    To your overall point, I am not really disagreeing with you, just trying to get you to rethink "clean" and "dirty". I eat mostly "clean" largely because of satiety and my performance has obviously improved as I am no longer obese. Because I have lost so much weight, I would say that I have experienced the massive difference between the two. Eating clean isn't the broccoli I did eat...it's the pizza I didn't eat and vice versa. Could I be further along if I had eaten more broccoli and less pizza...maybe; I might have given up though and then what good would "clean" eating have been for me?

    All in all, I don't think we're as far apart as it seems...mostly I just like to argue.

    There are also advantages to the IIFYM for satiety, as well as disadvantages to the clean method in satiety. I'd like to say this is just for some people, but -seeing as how many people go crazy with their cheat days - it's likely that this applies to all. 4000 calories of clean foods can leave you feeling far less satiated than 2000 calories of dirty food. As for performance, I think there's a threshold (I don't think 95% clean would hamper performance).

    The important thing is how we conceptualize it. Calling IIFYM'ers "lazy" is a misplaced judgment; for all you know, they have deep psychological pathways that need dirty foods and this is their way of managing it (instead of abstaining for as long as possible and then bingeing). Perhaps the distress from avoiding these foods do not justify the slight bumps in performance and the non-existent, or opposite, effect of clean foods on satiety. Also, for some, it may require greater effort - as they are having to enjoy those foods in much smaller quantities than they are used to.
    Started 2012 at over 410lbs (that was as high as my scale went) and I ended the year at 260lbs.

    Still going strong while eating whatever I want - whenever I want; I just keep it to under 2000 calories a day.
