    Cottage Cheese vs Yogurt

I like yogurt much better than cottage cheese, everyone says to eat cottage cheese before bed and i was wondering if yogurt could replace the cottage cheese before bed. They look very similar
    this is what i have
Breakstone's 2% Milkfat - small curd - lowfat cottage cheese
    124g serving
    90 calories
    2.5g fat
    6g carb - 4g sugar
    12g protein
ingredients: cultured pasteurized grade a skim milk, milk and cream and some other minor things that are less than 2%

    and

Chobani all natural 2% plain greek yogurt
    113.5g serving
    85 calories
    2.5g fat
    4.5g carbs - 4.5g sugar
    11g protein
ingredients: cultured pasteurized nonfat milk and cream, contains five live active cultures

the ingredients and nutrition facts are almost identical. with the yogurt i would also have 1 or 2 table spoons of natural almond butter (im allergic to pb). what do you think guys?
    thanks

I mix yogurt w cottage cheese before bed every night.. Generally do about 1/2 a container of cottage cheese with some weight watchers / light + fit yogurt... Some folks will disagree with taking in artificial sweeteners before bed but it doesn't seem to create much/any fat gain in me.

As far as the yogurt being the same, I'd assume that "greek" yogurt is similar in nutritional value... Standard yogurt is generally not.

Also.. Why not move to a Fat Free cottage cheese? You can pack in slightly more protein for the same # of cals..

Coming into this thread I thought you were talking about regular yogurt (which wouldn't be close to a replacement for the protein found in Cottage Cheese).

However, you may be able to get away with replacing Cottage Cheese with Greek or Balkanized (I believe its called) yogurt. The protein looks about the same, but I'm not sure how much Casein protein is in the yogurt (which is the main benefit of eating Cottage Cheese), but looking at the ingredients it probably also has a good deal of Casein protein in it since its a dairy product.

I would say eat the yogurt if you really hate Cottage Cheese.

Yogurt has a lot of sugar and hardly any protein compared to CC.

    Eat CC

Well, considering that the main ingredient in both is pasteurized fat free milk, i would think they have almost the same protein ratios and what not, don't you?

did you not read my post? a 113g serving of yogurt compared to a 124g serving of cc only has 1 less g of protein and .5g more of sugar. i'm pretty sure that won't make a difference

Cottage cheese is going to win. He flew right threw the prelims wheras yogurt got hella lucky when the chargers lost to the jets. if sour cream was still in this my heart would go out to him, fighting for his cause is very noble. Nice job throwing an interception manning. KO he was out!

yeah I do agree, if you read my post I said that I wasn't sure how comparable the levels of Casein were but that I assumed they were similiar because of the ingredients.

Just eat the yogurt dude, but alot of people are going to tell you to eat CC because its the poplar way tooo goo bro
