Ok so my flat bench is about 220lb max, decline roughly the same but my incline is like 154lb. Is this normal or should I concentrate more on incline? I read somewhere that incline works delts first and upper peck second. So does that mean I should try up my shoulder presses too?

Is it normal for incline to be weaker?
All my posts are based on my opinions and studies of being a personal trainer. They are simply opinions and not the law.

OP, The other posters are absolutely right here. It is totally normal to be weaker on incline. With that in mind, you should focus on it, because upper chest is where most people tend to look weak. building your upper chest is one of the best ways to make your chest look fuller. I also recommend using dumbells for incline bench. It is easier on your shoulders, as your path of travel will not be locked in by the bar. Same goes for overhead press. I love doing overhead press with a bar but I gave myself a stress injury a couple months ago going for big numbers. I'm not saying never do it, and it might be fine for you, but if the movement feels slightly uncomfortable then consider using dumbbells. Good luck!

yup..350 decline, 335 flat, 285 incline. Everyone i have ever known/trained has had a better flat bench than incline. nothing to worry about.
Although it wouldnt hurt to bring up your incline a bit, as it is a bit low in comparrison..but nothing extreme man, keep at itFounder & CEO - www.FierceStrength.com
