It's a good point. Whenever anyone starts a fight I avoid the punches like anderson silva, put the kettle on and make a nice cup of tea. I usually engage the punch thrower in some polite conversation as the tea is brewing. I drink a bit as I'm usually quite tired after 4 minutes of weaving and chit chat, then I chuck it in the ruffians face.

Manchester isn't that violent to be honest. You have to actively seek out trouble. Even areas like Moss side aren't that bad anymore.

Guns simply aren't needed for defence. Some people have them for recreational use or for removing pests. IE someone I know has a shotgun to shoots rabbits.

Strong 10 year old article with zero credibility. Daily fail of peace. Gun crime has reduced significantly.

People use knives for home defence. Never heard of a robber who carried a gun. I know some guy near where I live was recently acquitted for killing a thief with a knife.
