Chest is one of the things I've always lagged with, tbh...I don't think I'll ever have a 400lb bench, for instance.
thanks! lol, obviously the painting is a reproduction. A real one was on my list if I would have won that $640 million, though"I think computer viruses should count as life...I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. Back, Traps, Rear Delts, Hams, Bi's
Gym was noticeably empty today. For most people, that's great...but I find empty gyms to be dismal. It wasn't completely deserted or anything, but there was definitely less activity than normal.
Pre-w/o mood music
...haunting, beautiful, and raw. Something about this song makes me want to go out and break sht, and punch someone who deserves it.
Deadlifts
11x225
18x315 <--- PR
3x445 <--- PB with this rep range
4x405
These hurt. I'm still hurting. I think next time, I'm going to bump the 315 up and work the reps upward again. 18 rep deadlifts is getting a little high.
DB Rows
11x130's <--- PR
9x130's
9x130's
Freemotion Lat Pulldown
this thing...
13x140
8x200 <--- PR
7x200
Hammer Wide Row
13x180
9x270
5x360
I haven't really done these before, so at this point I'm trying to gauge where my rep range needs to be.
Rear Cable X-Overs
14x90 <--- PR
13x90
15x80
Seated Shrug
25x270
9x450
10x450
Step-ups
12x70
5x120
5x120
I think I actually did 130, but for whatever reason I wrote down 120. meh...
Standing Pulley Ham Curls
11x50
11x50
8x50
Standing EZ-Bar Curls
11x125
8x145 <--- PR
5x155
Plate-loaded Preacher
9x90
9x90
7x100
Hate these things. They just seem to hurt my shoulder. No sure how long I will keep them in.
Cable Concentration Curls
15x30
15x35
42.5x11
Done with the low cable. The whole "bracing your elbow on the inside of your leg" kind of motion.
I also tried some wide-grip deadlifts. Yesterday, I saw a chick at the gym doing them. She was infinitely more shredded than any non-bodybuilder I've ever seen, so I figured she must know what she's doing. I asked her about them, and she said it was "just how she did them"...I no like! For one thing, I scrape my shins on the way up. For another, they kind of strain my shoulder. Lastly, you pretty much have to use a pronated grip. Was interesting to try, though. She said it's easier on her lower back than using a close grip. IDK - it's an interesting lift if anyone else wants to try and master it.
Back prog pics...I need to figure out a decent way to shoot these without doing the "iPhone overheard pointing at a mirror" maneuver. But, no difference from last week.

Your back looks like a face, g. That's a compliment, btw.
You hit a lot of PR's--WTG. 18 reps on 315 DL's is just ... wicked.
How do you have the energy for all of this? I would be ready to drink a shake and take a nap after three exercises.

In b4 Evo chop...
Back looks like a face, leg looks like a heart...you've got me looking like a Picasso, lol.
But, I've been taking Craze PWO, and it makes me not want to leave the gym. Love that stuff! Lots of rumors going on about it, though - so I just stocked up on the 3 for 2 deal they're running this week."I think computer viruses should count as life...I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. Dang man, you been breaking PRs left and right since you started this log. Arrgggg.... must be that placebo effect.
:}
How is your bf% again? You look pretty damn lean.
Next time I take progress pic, I ensure the "guest peace signs" is in it.

Crave is really that strong? I may have to order it now.If motivation comes in a liquid form, it would be dripping off my fingers tips.

I have no idea what my bf% is these days, and Craze has been hit or miss for people. I guess when it works, it works amazing. When it doesn't, it's just a bad tasting placebo. But, I highly recommend the peace signs! It sets off the rest of the physique.
I am highly embarrassed of how long it took me to find myself in that chop, lol. Seriously, mang...you are getting way too good at camouflaging the chops. Some "where's Waldo" sht up in this bee

The Scream is easily his most famous, but definitely not my favorite. Oddly enough, the most valuable one is Vampire...
I wish I could have found a repro of this version of Madonna
Don't know how I got into buying repro oil-on-canvas, but I've got a few of them...Van Gogh's 5 Sunflowers, Dali's Spain. My next one is definitely going to be something by Eduard Manet, though. You can tell that whoever does the actual painting, actually is familiar with the artist...just by the texture on the canvas. Odd little hobby of mine...
Yeah, no hate - it's just kind of a strange choice of workout gear. Always some strange pastel color, too - so you can see every pool of perspiration. It seems so uncomfortable and impractical."I think computer viruses should count as life...I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. Plyo and such...
Before I actually went to the gym, I went to the park and skated for about an hour. I have no idea how it happened, but the fit is all fukked up on them now. It's only been 2 weeks since the last time I skated, but it felt like I had them on the wrong feet. They're not even racing skates - it's a soft boot...wtf? I've been meaning to get a new pair, anyway - so this just seals it. My feet hurt like hell, though. And, why does inline skating annihilate my lower back?
Pre-w/o mood music
...kind of reminds me of old Black Sabbath...idk
Today was another plyo day, replete with the typical pull up variations, pushups on rings, etc. I did box jumps onto the 36" box for distance, too - and I got my furthest jumps today. Stupid thing is, I don't know how far it is. I measure by a line on the floor, which is ~2ft in front of the box when it's against the wall. Then, I just put plates behind that line, and jump over them. Today I did a 45lb plate with a 25lb plate behind it. I'm thinking that's a good 4 feet? Later, I did normal jumps onto the box holding 35lb kettlebells in each hand. I only managed 3 rep sets of those. Did the typical GHR/reverse hyper superset - and some roman chair crunches on the GHR. Just enjoy messing around and trying things.
But, now I hurt. I hurt a lot! Tomorrow is a rest day, but in my infinite stupidity, I signed up for an early shift at the shelter (I volunteer at an animal shelter) so I'm not going to be able to sleep in. I think between the deadlifts yesterday and the skating/GHR/reverse hypers today - I dun fukkered my lower back all over the place! Foam roller couldn't save me today."I think computer viruses should count as life...I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We have created life in our own image"
