My issue with this discussion is the same issue I have discussing guns with foreigners. You think your system is best because it's what you're used to and you're biased. Likewise, many Americans can't admit there's anything wrong with our system for the same reason. Both sides have valid points that everybody is too stubborn to acknowledge. But you're not helping your cause by being obnoxious.

This is just silly to me. I think government control is exactly why more people die from prescription drugs than illicit drugs now days. If it was really about helping people in the best way possible governments would pay more attention to educating people on how to live healthy lifestyles, instead of forcing us to sit down all day and cancelling PE. I would like there to be a state funded insurance program where every US citizen gets premium health insurance at the expense of the tax payer and can choose whichever doctor they want and choose whichever hospital they want. This will allow everyone, including poor people, access to health care. Also this system will keep the hospitals and doctors competitive and therefore will ensure a high quality of health care.

I would absolutely despise having a health care system where every nurse and doctor is on a government payroll and where every hospital is government owned. This would inevitably deteriorate the quality of healthcare.
