It's network marketing...it's not a scam retards. You just have to work your ass off in order to be successful...not my cup of tea asking random people to come watch a video. I know a few guys who are very successful with it, you just have to be good at getting people to watch whatever your presentation is

Network marketing is MLM, just another name for it because of the negative connotations associated with MLM. The FTC has an advisory out for MLM.

Its a scam, the way to legitimize the business model of pyramid schemes, is to provide a real product (in this case it looks like some ****ty energy drink) then promise tons of money to fools and have the mgo out and sell the same bull**** line to other fools. Most people fail because they realize they paid to sucker others in to paying to sucker others in to paying to sucker others in to paying to sucker others in to paying. The product is to keep it legal but its a waste of time.
Edit: basically if someone is offering you an opportunity and you just need to pay them to start, its a complete scam.
Edit2: You also become the scum of the earth, no one will like you because your always trying to sell your bull**** product/idea and a lot of people are too smart to fall for this **** and it puts up a red flag to the character of that person scamming.

I'm not asking for the morality of it, I'm asking if it is a legit business. I would never do this personally. The definition of a pyramid scheme is getting the reps without a product...if there is a product (no matter how ****ty, yes here comes the morals) then it is a legitimate business. If they sign up a certain amount of people do they get paid for it? Yes? Then how is it a scam? It obviously just depends on how successful you can be in this type of marketing...most people don't like it/question the morality of it....but it is a legitimate business. It's not a scam if they provide a payout...

In the most basic context it is NOT a scam. But IMO any mainstream chit like this IS a scam.
The people that fall for this tend to think like sheep. They are just too lazy to develop a real business and product on their own , so instead they join a get rich quick scheme.
It's the same crowd of people that'll probably never work more than the minimum 40 hours a week and they'll be depending on the lottery for their success.

I don't think you understand what a pyramid scheme is. Read this, is good explanation:

Its a scam. Not in the truer sense of the word, but it is a scam.
No one makes any money off of the product. Like a previous miscer said, its basically a legal loophole filler.
Its the exact equivalent as someone mailing a letter saying, "send 1 dollar to me and to everyone on this list, then mail it to 10 other people... oh and rip off a little corner of the paper and keep it".
No one personally knows ANYONE who got rich off these scams. Its always a friend who knows a friend who saw the Ferrari of the guy that does.
Joining these does nothing but make you lose friends, give you false hope, and makes other people money.Misc Scotch Crew.

Its a scam because someone is going to be ****ed over.
Once you get the drinks and realize "Oh ****, this product is completely useless" youre only option is to sell it to some poor schmuck so they get ****ed over and you get your money back. The person you suckered into buying it from you will then try to sell it to someone else and so forth. Of course there will always be people who profit off of this, but the vast majority aren't going to be making anything and losing money.
Or at least thats how I believe this works.

Many of these companies make financial figure embellishments that often inflate the true value of whatever revenue you stand to make by investing, this is not blatant fraud, but for those with some economic know-how, then this should be apparent.
The structure of the business is fielded in such a manner that all potential entrees have absolutely no chance of making a profit, or dare I say, even to recoup spent costs.
Which is why owners and/or entrees spend most of their time recruiting people instead of selling or peddling products - the products given to entrees are generally unmarketable and therefore unsellable, and are used as a subversive means of laundering cash money, into the hands of the owners.
