Close grip vs Wide grip rows...

Hey guys, I have been getting a lot of contradicting information on barbell bent over rows. Im going for the v shape, what should I be concentrating in more, wide or close grip rows? Im trying to keep the reps under 5.

    Happy lifting

Neither. Stick with a medium grip. A wide grip tends to hit the upper back & rear delts more so than the lats and a close grip seems kind of akward on this movement. Also, if size is your main goal than up the reps to 6-10.

i prefer to use an underhand medium grip for barbbell rows as it hits the lower lats much more, i do pull ups for the more upper lats

cool, and size is not my goal, its functional strength, im actually dropping weight. I just like to add a little hypertrophy functionality to my lifting lol

You're getting contradictory information because there's no 'one size fits all' answer; your body mechanics are different from mine and everyone else's, so what works for me isn't necessarily going to do the same thing for you.

You're going to have to do some experimenting, and see which hand position works better for you.
