rice! a problem?
hey to all! im gonna start bulking up starting monday so i need a good diet. i usually drink a liter of low fat milk daily, 1000g chicken, 4 egg whites. i include an apple, orange, banana for fibers to ease in digestion, i was wondering about rice? im on a high protein, high fat, low carb diet. i usually have a cup of rice daily, somewhere around 160g. im on a clean bulk. will this amount of carb make me gain more fat?? just a small not, i have 80g of rice preworkout, and the other 80 right after a workout and then after 6 pm NO CARBS WHAT SO EVER!
help a brother out. thanks.

break out of the ridiculous dogma of "clean"
calories are what matter, not how "clean" a food is or when you eat it during the day.
"Clean" foods will make you just as fat as "dirty" foods will

carbs don't make you fat any more than other macronutrients do

It doesn't matter too much yes, however there are times of the day that carbohydrates are more warranted. An example would be paraworkout, where an acute increase of carbohydrate consumption can lead to 1) A better workout and 2) increased protein synthesis post-workout.

Why not? But yes, it's perfectly fine to eat 80g of carbs after a workout. It's actually a good thing to have carbs after a workout since the insulin spike will help absorb the protein faster.
Also, just a note of advice, low carbs on a bulk is not ideal. You'll need the energy and that's what carbs give you. You can try your low carb diet and see how it works out, but if you find that you lack energy, consider increasing your carbs to at least 40% of your total diet.

It doesn't matter and there is no reason to start a fight. As for your statement that it doesn't matter when you eat your carbohydrates during the day, my statement that "it doesn't matter too much" agrees with you.
