    Alcohol on a training day?

I searched leangains and I couldn't find anything about drinking directly after training. I'm sure it addresses this but I couldn't find anything. I know (moderate intake of) alcohol isn't bad for muscle growth but does this also apply to training days? If I train from 3pm-5pm will it be detrimental if I have a pint in the evening? I know this is just splitting hairs and it probably doesn't matter but I just want to be sure. Thanks.

Just keep in mind that for the time your liver oxidizes the alcohol, all other processes are given a lower priority (fat oxidation, protein synthesis, etc). Not exactly sure of the extent, as I'm sure it varies from person to person, and also depends on how much they drink.

    This.

With one pint, as long as you don't make it a post workout staple, you will be perfectly fine.

Do not drink to intoxication on days you workout and even the nights before. Although the majority of the work that's been done on this subject has been in animal models it's still the best conclusion I have come up with looking at much of the data out there. I suspect it's a good rule!

I also want to add that by "how much they drink" means not only volume in the specific instance, but also the frequency (how long since last drink: 2 days, 1 week, etc)

Oh I thought you were saying it's bad to drink one pint but OK to drink 12 ounce...thought you were mocking me. Didn't realize you meant it's OK to drink 1 pint but not OK to drink 12 pints...well I knew it's bad to drink too much no matter what day of your training schedule you are on.
