No, no, no...Crossfit midland is also a strength and conditioning gym. So I think it would be intresting to see what they would say about all of my lifts. If I had to crossfit for awhile to get some solid fundamentals I'd be all good. Plus we are talking 3 days a week. I could still lift 'normal' on my other days at the Y.

LOL at the crossfitter vs. weightlifter banter. I know crossfit gets a bad rap from all the pics/vids online of people doing stupid things with stupid form, but I do have respect for those that actually do things the right way. Being passionate about something, doing it right, and busting your ass is what gets my respect, regardless of how you train.
The comment about crossfitters lifting in 15 minutes vs. weightlifters lifting in an hour and a half is just comical though. I don't claim to have world class strength or anything, so this isn't meant to come across as me puffing out my chest, but my typical Monday workout consists of 5x5 squats (340 lbs this week), 5x5 bench (220 lbs), and sometimes some extra assistance work. Typically takes me a little over an hour. Someone please show me a crossfitter that can even come close to 340x5x5 on squats and 220x5x5 on bench all within 15 minutes.
I will say though, from the crossfit gyms I've seen, I'd take their equipment inventory over the typical bro gym any day.Powerlifting Log - http://tinyurl.com/jshaw5

this is similar to your workout but keep this in mind.....Power = work/time = (Force * distance)/time
"Being passionate about something, doing it right, and busting your ass is what gets my respect, regardless of how you train".... completely agree i just dont like the bad rap crossfit gets when i i switched to crossfit all my 1RM went through the roof....i guess why im so passionate about it is becuase i know have witnessed and experienced the miracles crossfit can do and would love everybody to have the same experience I have had....crossfit also showed me how to lift right...i did not realize how many things i was actually doing wrong when i weight lifted up at the normal gymhttp://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=150467643&p=996587533#post996587533

There were a lot of spectators at the inauguration.... does that make it a sport too?
Most people's beef with CrossFit is this assumption that it's something miraculous (and the blind fanaticism by its proponents). It's not. If you work out at a good box, it just means that you have people who (a) motivate you more than in a typical gym setting, (b) are training you to lift properly, and (c) when done right, program your training appropriately for volume/intensity/etc. Good CrossFit boxes are actually pretty fantastic in this regard but bad ones are god awful, but that doesn't make it unique to CrossFit itself, just good programming and training.New log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=144101461

Crossfit and bodybuilders both get a bad rap because of the people that engage in the endeavor.
People (myself included) are a$$holes. People crossfit and bodybuild. Therefore, at least some crossfitters and bodybuilders are a$$holes, which leads to gross generalizations and stereotypes (e.g., Exhibit A: the previously posted vid).
Here's the thing though... By and large, you don't find narcissistic, fake-tan wearing, swole up dudes doin' 10x10 squats, concentration curls - or whatever - in a crossfit gym. But you do see crossfit wannabes floppin' all around the fuking place, hogging up a billion pieces of equipment, and doing made-up Oly lifts in standard bro gyms that are clearly not designed for that purpose.

Nobody here has tried crossfit for a lenghty amount of time so your opinions are irrelevant until you see for yourself...

Just out of curiosity, how long have you been crossfitting? Training history prior to starting crossfit? What are your maxes on the big 3? I can accept that crossfit is better for endurance, I don't doubt that for a second. I can't see how crossfit could even come close to a good strength program like Texas Method though.
I know you get annoyed by the half squatters, but so do we, just like I'm sure you get annoyed by people like those in all the crossfit fail videos.Powerlifting Log - http://tinyurl.com/jshaw5

Current 1RM
Squat - 305 (ass to grass no half squats...so passed parallel)
Deadlift - 385 (straight barbell no triangle vagina shaped bar)
Bench - 240 (bar to chest no half benches)
current weight 160.....No BS on this stuff you can ask my sis if im lying she will call me out
Power = work/time = (Force * distance)/time and Work = Force x Distance.....so we do more powerful work why wouldnt that recruit more muscle building on top of the muscle confusion since you never do trhe same workout out twice. And on top of that higher intensity leads to higher testosterone levels. I dont see what there is not to get your doing more work in less time. Sounds superior to me.http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=150467643&p=996587533#post996587533
