I shoot 54R steel core all the time, I've noticed a couple very small divots/dimples in a couple of my plates. I presume from shooting at 150yards which might be a little close for battle rifle cartridges with steel core.

Now I only shoot steel core ammo at a select few targets if I'm close to save on wear for the others. The others can take a pounding from really any distance if it's lead core ammo. At 300+ yards I'll shoot everything.

I've heard of AR500 getting dimples from 5.56NATO and 5.45x39 if closer than 100yards. I don't have any firearms chambered in those so I can't confirm.

Nice, I've shot my 1/2 in plate with 54r before at 100m but not with steel core. Was going to move it to 300+ but wanted to make sure i wasn't going to destroy the damn thing haha.

Was just searching for a bigger plate for long range and found a 45% silhouette for $43 I may have to pic up

It just hit me. I haven't heard anything about North Korea in the news the past few days. Before we were on the verge of destruction. Now the media has abandoned that story. Only worried about interviewing the bomber's cousin's roommate's father. That and how we gun owners are right wing extremists because we are happy the gun laws got shot down.

Its cause it was blown way out of proportion by the US media. My parents live in South Korea and i'm visiting them in 2 weeks. If it really was bad they would tell me not to come and would probably move back to the US since they are US citizens.

Try to find a local guy to cut targets up for you. I got a 4'x4' sheet of AR500 cut and prepped the way I wanted for under $400. Srs. Much cheaper than ordering from online and having to pay for shipping - and I got all the sizes/dimensions I desired.

I was in a road between the University and my apartment at the time. Very dark rural road. Some SUV was driving really close for a couple of minutes , made a stop to the side so he could pass, he/she didnt .. the car was tinted. They turned their lights off, Pulled the weapon.. and they just continued their road.

I have shipped out 3,100 rounds of 5.56/.223 in the past four days.

And I have another 2,000 to go. Hopefully I can move it just as quickly, before I actually end up taking a loss on the sh.it.

I just sold 1,000 Herters (same as Tulammo) 62gr HP for $470 + shipping buy-it-now on Gunbroker.

Seems plenty high to me.

For ~$600 + shipping you can Gunbroker-purchase brass case 5.56, if you are patient and find the right auction. $700 for SURE will buy you brass 5.56. I'm not sure many people will spend $600 for cheap Russian steel case .223
