my doctor recommended i eat a cliff bar 45 mins pre workout because it has good slow digesting oatmeal carbs in it. anyone else eat these pre workout?

have you tried oats mixed with anything? I dont like plain oats either, but search for the recipe thread, one of my favorites is oats, sugar free maple syrup, blueberries, and vanilla protein powder. If you really dont want oats make a pb and banana sandwich on whole wheat, either would probably be better than the bar, but there is still far worse than a cliff bar.

I have had Clif Bars before.
They do give you that nice sustained energy!
But I tend to eat 1 cup Oatmeal in 3/4 cup milk with 1/2 cup sliced strawberries approximately 1 1/2 hours before I workout.
I remember some people stating that soemthing as simple as a Rice Cake is decent enough for a Pre-workout.
Actually just bought some Multi-grain Rice Cakes to try"Fear is the Mind Killer!"
