Which Bench shirts do you prefer?

I was thinking of doing a comp soon but I have been out of powerlifting for 9yrs I don't even know any more which shirts are the best due to evolution of the sports. My PB raw bench press is 495 @ 213, I got it relatively easy so I feel ready to try and win a small local show just to do it. I'm just wondering which shirt and what to expect from it in terms of strength gains. I remember Inzer Denim shirts were popular before I stopped competing at 17 but also I only did raw comps.

i prefer the Titan Katana and Super Katana, one ply shirts that are comparable in carryover to 2 ply.

pretty awesome shirts, but they have a narrow groove and can be difficult to learn/use.

I've used Inzer Double Denim and a Metal Pro Bencher. My training partners use a mix of Inzer and Titan.

I like the single and double ply titan F6 for poly shirts and Karin Klein's double denim when I lifted in a denim shirt.

i like double denims too because of their low groove. i've tried single ply poly shirts and the groove just seems too high for my style of benching.

edit: i should mention that i have never tried double ply poly shirts so, i cannot say how they are.

I first tried out an Inzer Rage X dble ply jacked up with a super scooped collar, grid stiched, open back and 2in off the sleeves. Pretty awesome shirt. Ran into Ken Anderson at a meet and he fitted me up with a Super Kantana and fell in love with. Just a off the shelf singleply(already has a reinforced and scooped neck line). I got as much out of that shirt as I did the jacked up RageX believe it or not.

I love reading these type of post. My buddy lifts in the USAPL and use the Super Katana. He acts like a gear snob and complain that my shirt is jacked and is "cheating" because I use the Rage X. Even though the Super Katana is a 1.5" ply shirt and basically an open back scopped shirt hidden to make it look like it is closed.

Same thing with the Super Centurion suit which is basically 1.5" ply and you get more out it then the old Frantz Canvas suits. Come to think of it there is another gear snob somewher eon this board thats says multiply is cheating. I think i'll search for him.

LOL, yeah Titan really pushes the envelope on the Single ply market and that's definitely their niche on putting reinforced seams just in the right places. After watching guys literally ripping themselves out of their canvas in agony for several minutes I think I'll stick with poly.

BTW, good to see you posting over here too. Hope to see you at Carps. National Meet. I'll be trying to get over there Saturday or Sunday or both to watch this year. Hope to qualify for next years.

lol, I started breaking in my super katana last night...its a ridiculously strong shirt.

couldn't touch anything...and even with the bands deloading ~150, I had 605 that didn't even come close, and had i touched it would have been on my belt...
