    -Official Truck Thread-

Well i made this in the Tmisc but I dont think there are many truck guys in there.

    We are real men.
We have one of the biggest vehicles on the road
Brb out towing every non truck driver
    Brb going off roading

So what kind of trucks do you guys drive?
what kind of modifications do you have on it?
    what kind of tires/rims?

    I drive a 2003 black F-350
no modifications on it. only thing new on the truck is the transmission
stock tires/rims (i really need new ones)

    so whats up?

Anyway, next purchase will be a third-gen Dodge 2500; crew cab, short bed. I'll then put a 4.5" on the Jeep and bump the gears up to a 4.10 or 4.56 setup and use it solely as a trail rig, with the Dodge taking over as daily driver, hunting truck and tow rig.

Oh yeah I forgot I installed a Hooker Aero Chamber on this truck, sounds freaking great. Not annoyingly loud, just enough of a deep sound to give it some balls and of course at WOT or powering through some deep sand it sounds freaking amazing.

2003 S10, lays frame on a 20/22 combo. Triangulated 4 link with rear lift bars, York 210 EDC, Dual port Continental 2600 lb bags in the front, Dominator 2600's in the rear, 12 1/2" valve (8 front 4 rear) air management. Shaved completely (except for tail lights) with a Checker flush mount tonneau. The front doesn't quite lay hard. I still need to tub the firewall and raise the inners up more. It was laying the front with the 17's on it, but not with the 20's. I have suicide doors BMF uppers and lowers I just never got around to putting on. It'll probably lay as is since I have the stock LCAs plated. The rear gets about 28" of travel and the truck has shocks all around. So, it rides nicer than stock. I also put on rear disc brakes from a LS1 camaro.

I'll see if I can dig up some pics.

Thanks man, like it a lot. I had an '04 Sierra before I got this one that I really liked as well. I cant think of any real con's or dislikes that I have (aside for spending 100 bucks to fill it up ).

I'm a big fan of the big trucks, myself. They have their uses, but living in Northern VA, there's no where to use it really. I mean, you don't really need a lifted 4x4 truck for a dirt/gravel road. And the weak amount of snow we get here doesn't justify it either. We had almost 4 feet a couple years ago, but my V70 station wagon was able to get out 2 days later.

And, with 1.95 kids and a wife, I'm not really worried about lady friends in the back of my truck. There are a pair of 12's back there anyway.

Why do you just paint it yourself? You can get color matched aerosol for about $20 a can. Two cans should be more than enough (and extra to color match other bits and peices if you'd like). That and a couple cans of Clear and you got about $60 invested. Not sure if you'll be able to get it painted for less than that.

Just go slow and do big sweeping coats. Don't start or end on the project, and be sure to keep moving and you'll end up without any drips or sags.

As soon as I get some land, I'll probably get a travel trailer and a truck. But... I'll have a hard time not getting a 2wd dualie or a 3/4 ton diesel burban and door the some bitch.

A CUCV would be nice for screwing around off road.

Well, gents....I'll post a pic of mine. Think of it as comic relief.

Consider that I'm 6'5" and way too heavy. I needed something to tote my golf clubs, hunting gear, coolers and tailgating supplies. 4WD is a must for me. I also needed a 4 door that gets decent mileage (ave ~20mph). Love the 6spd manual.

It's hilarous to some, me driving this "trucklette". I can only laugh along with them. It's been a great little ride. 69,000 miles on her now.....hope she'll make it another 100K.

Hopefully by the time I replace this one, these midsize versions will get the full attention of the manfs to improve mileage like they've done with the full size versions.
I may look like Santa Claus.....but I'm feeling like Elvis...........

Exactly. My Yota has 293k. Just change the fluids regularly and it'll last a long time.
