530 is there. Just a bit of a transition issue. It will come soon.

I'd say it's a few things:
adjusting to heavy weights with hook grip
significantly wider stance than you used to pull with
the lack of metallica bumping on the speakers

Strong workout NC. I give you props going with a hook grip. I tried it on my last workout and it just tears up my thumbs. It feels like they are going to break or something.
Major props going for 530 twice. Good work man, you'll pull that in no time.My training log: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=178464441

This isn't the end of a cycle, it's just a test day.
Look at your approach to 530, I only watched the first attempt, and you just pulled like it was going to fly off the floor and as soon as you waited for the weight to be heavy, guess what? It was f'n heavy.
505 is a hook grip pr and I know you are disappointed but, this is why I cautioned you to be sure you pulled a hook pr and went from there. Your body language gave you away on the miss. You just knew it was going to fly off the floor and you gave up on it.
Look at the positives across the board and they are plenty.
Now, I'll ask this.
When you pulled 565...
What did you weigh?
Did you front squat, trap bar pull or anything else prior to testing on that day?
What grip did you use?
All these things play a factor and I told you that this transition was going to take time. So, temper the disappointment with knowing you're stronger, form is ever improving and your squatting and benching better than ever. This will pay off.

Look at the effort on the front squat...275 with that form is huge for you but, you had to grind it some. Then you murdered 475 on the trap with as good a form and style that I've ever seen you pull and then pulled a pr hook.
Leverages will change even going up that you'll have to adjust to. I'm seeing this session as a plus and the miss, you can learn. You weren't where you needed to be head wise and your effort lacked on the first 530, lesson learned. I'm betting you won't do that again.
I also think the chains were a miss for you. I think you would have pulled 530 after the form and speed work so, I won't make that mistake again. Can we use some in assistance? Perhaps but, as a main movement, I don't think it worked.

All good points
I've been texting/emailing with Wade and going forward we're going to start a new 4 Week deadlift cycle next week and bump my working max 20 pounds. This has me starting out with 405 for 15 singles with a 60 sec rest between sets on Thursday (good night sweet thumbs )
By the time week 4 rolls around I'll have 515 for 3 singles or possibly 515 for a single then another shot @ 530 or higher.
I was disappointed last night but in the grand scheme of things it means absolutely sh*t. I woke up this morning, I'm healthy, I'm scheduled to smash a 3 rep decline PR on Saturday morning and then I'm coaching basketball.

And there you are
Look at your pressing strength now
Look at your form improvements and what you've learned
Remind me again where the meet is?

I'm hoping to inch forward on that just a tad around mid January
600 pull is the goal.....
For reps
I've been using it for 10 weeks so honestly my thumbs are pretty immune to it. I have big hands and long, thin fingers so I can actually lock it in pretty good.
I start a new cycle on Thursday and I have 15 singles with 405 so that may get a little testy around rep 10 or so....but we're almost all men here right???Better Body Sports
