So i have been reading alot about the health benefits of eating cayenne peppers. Most notably the weight loss benefits. I started growing my own peppers in my yard this summer, and they actually sprouted pretty good. I have been eating 6-8 of these things for the last month and i lost an extra 4 lbs. as opposed to the previous month. Now granted it could have been due to alot of factors but i tried to keep my routines and eating habits close to the same. On a side note I have built up a strong immunity to cayennes and they only tingle as much as a jalapeno would now. I may try switching to thai chilis or habaneros. Also in closing its a great way to get your daily water needs in too.

The "Weight Loss" from spicy food comes from the Diarrhea.
Your intestines get irritated from the pepper, hot sauce.. whatever, and try to flush it out/dilute it with excess water.
So it's almost dehydrating. But good for cutting, I think.Rest in Peace, Sergeant Ford, Sergeant Tomzak and Sergeant Vanek. You will not be forgotten.

The capsaicin in peppers does temporarily speed up your metabolism. It's not bad to have a few peppers a day but going out of your way to eat peppers can be very bad for your stomach.

Reminds of the time I saw this huge dude complete 4 sets and then dig into his bag to pull out a jalapeno and took a huge bite. Then he started hooting and howling something about "feel the burn."

Frank's Red Hot on my sandwiches. Crushed red peppers on my salads. Chipotle peppers in my beef stew. You name it, I've done it. Spice is the...spice of life...
