Face look worse with lower bodyfat?

okay so I went through a little phase of getting cut and lowering my body fat percentage after seeing movie never back down, lame I know haha stay with me here though, And after a few months I started to see a huge gain in definition in abs and face, but my face was worse looking than before, ya it was a bit more masculine but it seemed as though there was a very thin line for my face between defined and good looking.

This happen to anyone else where they look better with moderate body fat compared to lower body fat? Also is there any way, god I feel crazy saying this, to keep my face from dropping body fat from where it is while my body keeps going at it?

I have the same issue - My face looks better at ~15%+ bf than it does when I'm down lower. I think we'll have to live with that fact.

That is just absurd.. its all in your head.. your face does look better with lower body fat, unless your like anorexic.. you have a more defined jaw line which makes you more masculine.. the only person that won't think u look better is your grandma, who'll miss pinching chubby cheeks. lol. .

its not IN my head it IS my head! the jaw line may be more distinct and noticeable but like the guy above said about himself is what is my major issue, it makes my nose look long and droopy in comparison with the rest of my face

I'd sacrifice the "face beauty" (which is the same , just not we are used to see in the mirror after cuttin alot) for some normal cheeks /eyebags ......

Rather have a nice smile than a monster one (with 2000000000tons of fat wavin at the camera when u smile \o) And im sure u all hated that ;P

Im questioning the same thing over here. Ive always had a small face. Today I bumped into an old co-worker who would not shut up about how small my face is...mind you Ive been secretly questioning myself about this. Then again as Im driving home Im thinking she was fat a whole lot fatter than the last time you saw her...of course she would find me incredibly smalll...Oh I dont know...but it does bug me from time to time. But then again my neighbor had just complemented me hrs prior and told me how beautiful I was so I guess it is like the saying goes "Beauty is different for everybody"! But overall Im the happiest Ive ever been with my body...

Everybody is different, and this includes fat storage patterns and facial structure.

Some of us, even when we're pretty fat like say ~20%, don't store much of it in our faces/chins/necks. When we drop down we start to look pretty damn haggard. And then random people start wanting to donate their sandwiches to us.

But, oh well, gotta make due with the hand you were dealt.

alot depends on age. The older you get the more the lines are defined with low bf. If I get too cut I look too fricken old so there has to be a balance. But love the abs and deep cuts.

well what i'd suggest is changing your hairstyle if your not happy with you face. experiment a little. |You'll be surprised how much hair can change your profile.. gaining bodyfat isn't an option becuase that'll make you less attractive overall...

I've found that I can shrug off a million compliments a day like, "oh my god you look so skinny! what'd you do?" and ill say "you know nothin special" but when I hear somebody say "you're too skinny I don't know if I like it" then I can't stop tripping off that one comment. no matter how many people think we look great, you always hold on to the one slightly negative comment. **** it buddy you're face ain't too skinny, and in your case the one negative comment may just be coming from yourself.

you should look up alton brown, the guy from the tv show good eats. he lost hella weight and now he looks terrible. some people just need that little extra bit of fat on their face to look right

right now its just thin, long and gaunt..but I like seeing abs

Dunno If Im 150-160 and ripped it will look better as I am very skinny right now

Just because you lose the weight and your face trims down does not mean you automatically become attractive. It has to do with bone structure, its a matter of anthropology, it is ingrained in our minds as to what is beautiful since the beginning of man. For instance, it is ingrained into our mind to look for a woman with a 0.7 ratio of waist to hip because a woman with that ratio has a greater chance of preforming a birth, now this was a long time ago when births were rarely successful, now this ratio since its been ingrained in our minds just means a woman has a perfect shape and is beautiful. This is exactly the same thing when women look at a man's face. The higher the cheekbones the more attractive and the more symmetrical your bone structure the more attractive you are to a woman because that has been ingrained in their minds since the beginning of time.

With this said, obviously your face is going to look strange to you since you lost all the weight and it prob hasn't been this thin in a while meaning it will take time for you to adjust to it, if you think about it, if someone rearranged the furniture in your room it would take a little while to get used to it. Same priciple here.

I was told by one female last weekend that I look younger. I believe that's right, as people tend to look more paunchy when they get older. But I was told by another that I look emaciated (that exact term wasn't used, but the general idea was conveyed).

So I guess it's hit or miss.

I dont know, a lot of girls look unbelievable with the skeletor face, look at the actors olivia wilde and kristen bell, sexiest skeletor's i've ever seen

One thing to realize when people make a comment on your face is 'context' .

General population is not used to having people dieting, lifting weights and eating enough protein. To them generally losing weight means either you're sick or you're just dieting.

On my avatar I am 153lb and 5'11". If I didn't work out and didn't eat enough protein and was your regular skinny fat then I'd be pretty thin, not muscular, have thin arms, would probably not have abs and would still have some sort of belly. However, when people saw me they didn't see my abs or muscles (unless I wore relatively tight shirt), all they saw was thin face and they automatically assumed that I was sick or something. When I took my shirt off they were like 'wow, you're like a different person'

I'd say my face at 153lb looked a little sickly, but still better than at 187lb.

Almost everyone looks better in the face at lower body fat although I see exceptions for women -- but not really for men. It's true people store different amounts of fat in their face but look at Jared Leto and Theron. I can't post the link yet as I'm one post short but google fitnessblackbooklosingbodyfatmakesyoumoreattractiv e.

I know you're not talking as extreme but every male pinup celeb I can think of has a gaunt face: Rob Pattinson - even though he's got a skinny fat body he naturally stores less fat in his face...Ryan Reynolds -- very lean face...

And 140/150 lb normal skinny guys get very pretty girlfriends easily whereas fat guys, even bulky (lots of muscle and higher body fat) have to have much better game -- yes, looks are more than just low body fat...like your nose size, whether you have massive ears...blah blah -- but for guys having cheekbones is supposedly a very attractive features. No homo.

Girls look better at lower body fat too - I would never date a chubby girl -- a chubby face usually comes with a chubby body. I love it when you see facial features. Look at Scarlett's high cheekbones.

However, taking Lohan, Jennifer Love Hewitt as examples -- girls who clearly were much hotter before. I even think Jessica Alba was perhaps even cuter in Dark Angel when she had a little more body fat especially so than the pictures of her on the beach where she looked a little too gaunt.

BUT women are meant to be a higher body fat than men. Girls aren't really meant to have abs. I'd probably be put off by them if I saw them on a girl, the same goes for any anorexic. Guys look better I think generally at then 7-9% body fat range unless they are unsual and have exceptionally low body fat on their face. And I still think the difference is pretty minimal - I'd still bang Jennifer Love Hewitt in The Tuxedo no question even though she was hotter in Heartbreakers.
