As you can see, this is my first post here. I've been reading the Ask US Marines anything thread because I want to join the military after highschool.
No disrespect, but why did you Soldiers decide to join the Army instead of the USMC? Or vice versa for you Marines
And thank you to anyone serving or vets, I would rep all of you if I had any

Good luck with what ever you decide OP. For me there was never any other consideration other than Marines.
I won't bash any other branch of the service and everyone who serves deserves and gets my respect.
I liked the discipline of the Corps, its history and I saw it as a challenge.
I joined at 18 years old served my tour. I won't say I enjoyed it but it changed my life and I would not do anything different.
The Marines Corps is still a part of my life even though I have been out for 30 years.

Why did I join the Marine Corps? Same reason I wouldn't decide to be a part of the B-team.

I joined the Marines to slay the lava monster.
Really though, I looked at history a bit, then examined the uniforms of the branches, and finally researched who the "tuffest" overall were. There was no other choice but the Marines. Even soldiers will tell you that nothing attracts vagina as well as a set of dress blues. And any history book will tell you who the enemy thought was more tough during the wars.
But thats not for everyone. Some people want careers that will carry over to civilian life. Some people want less physical routines. Some people even want to get stuck on a ship full of seaman. Its all a matter of preference."Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead"
I rep back 99% of the time, especially if you make me lol in the CP comment.
