^^^I don't even...
An equation yanked from a high school physics book does not negate the years of lifting experience and collective learning of some of the posters in this thread. "W = F x D" does not independently speak to the multiple physiological mechanisms that drive the adaptations to strength training. Nor does the equation replace the writings (and lifts) of Draper, Wendler, Lilly, Bompa, McCallum, Tuchscherer, Pavel, Smolov, etc., etc. The font of training methods and knowledge is wide and deep (if your mind is open enough to receive it) - and certainly goes beyond "Flex Magazine" routines vs. xfit - show some fuking respect.
Fuuuuuuuu... even the journals are troll infested now. I'll see you a few pages later, Boom...

This. Crossfit is hella expensive, at least around here, leading people who wanna do the workouts but don't want/can't pay for it joining the Y and doing the WOD in the stretching area during prime after-work hours, getting in everybody's way and making mild-mannered, agreeable people like me want to punch them. I got no problem with crossfit otherwise (well, except for Paleo, 'cause that shiz is stupid). The woman who owns the salon I get my hair done at is a crossfitter and before I even knew that, I saw her cutting someone's hair while wearing a tight polo shirt and I was like, "damn, she definitely lifts," because her lats and biceps were busting out of that thing. So whenever anyone says you aren't gonna build serious muscle doing crossfit, I

Going to a CF gym with a strength and conditioning program...DO IT! I am lost on why everyone has their knickers in a bunch. According to that pic you just posted, you're a grown ass woman!
I coach a Starting Strength class once a week at our CF garage. I do 1-2 WOD's per week and modify them as necessary for my goals. I pay good money to reach my goals, not theirs.Journal- One of the Ogres

I am intrested in what they have to offer strength and conditioning wise. Their are several powerlifters that go to that gym so I'm not overly worried about it. I am not replacing my permanent training with crossfit. Haven't really decided yet actually. How I train now is kind of crossfitesque no real rests and almost everything is a superset.
Plus ....
