Question Does Creatine Make you Break Out?

I've heard if you use forms of creatine, it will make your shoulders and back break out in pimples. Does anybody know if this is a myth, and if so, why?

    its different for everyone.

When i did use it, i didn't. But some friends did. just what your body reacts to and it will depend on other things like your diet, water consumption etc

There is no known mechanism by which it would cause you to break out.

elevated test levels will cause a good portion of people to break out, myself included. I have very clear skin and no pimples but soon as I take products with tribuls or other natural test boosters it like boom and there it is until i discountinue use. A sign that there is no need for me to be taking natural test boosters

I do slightly, but not enough to notice or worry about. Just notice I have a bit more when I am taking creatine.

That explains it! I've had clear skin ever since I got off of creatine and now I only take a small dosage that's in my other supplement. Not going back to that now! Thanks for the info.

I thought it was a myth that creatine was a steriod. In order for it to be one, it would have to be a synthetic version of the male hormone testosterone, which it isn't.

Also it can causes breakouts because some creatine has lots of sugar in it. Mine does...32 grams. Without alot of water consumption it can cause some acne.

I took a bucket of creatine xxx from gnc for about a month. Changed to the xxx power version about 3 weeks ago. This new stuff is working realy good for me but i am breaking out something fierce. Shoulders and even on my stomach. Hate it because this stuff is working great but glad it winter so i can keep covered up. But at 38, sucks breaking out as bad as i am.
