I did this comparison shot for a recent blog post. I am bulking now and up 15lbs from my "stage weight" (figure show that was in June). I have made it back up to my "fat weight" from two years ago but I look completely different this time around. While I'm not all that comfortable with the extra jiggle I'm carrying, I wanted people to see what a difference the extra muscle mass I have gained has made in my body. I weigh 140lbs in both of these images.
Now THAT is how you transform!! Big props!!

This week in Ov35 for me at 35.3 years old is/was my 1st Power Lifting Meet this past weekend.

Great experience after the nervousness wore off hours later. My performance was "Not bad". Finished 1st in Regional and was overall womens top finisher for the day by coeff as there was a Masters/Sub Masters event. happening at the same time.

Another Ov35 woman encourged me to post up in this thread,I figured since I'm sharing my little high point of the week in my journal and the womens' training section that I'd do here as well perhaps get some form/training advice.

I welcome any bit of form critique and advice if anyone is so inclined as I already know I have some things to fix. Thanks much.

Last night I hit chest, bi's and abs and did some weighted dips. Before I got hurt, I had worked up to 3-plates . . . might be another couple weeks before I feel like I can push that again. But I did crank out a bunch of 2-plate dips. I was thinking I could get 15 or so--fell a little short but 13 isn't bad. I did 4 sets with the 2 plates and felt pretty good on all of them.

Then for kicks, I thought I'd see how many bodyweight dips I could do as a 5th set. Got 22, which I was pretty happy with. So I'm back in the game I think . . . FINALLY!!!

Great dipping Taf. You inspired me to do a burnout set at the end of arms day. Here's my contribution. Thought I'd get a lot more, but I'll take what I can get.

I will be honest last week I was totally devastated by the news and was really down. They put two stents in one of the veins they used for bypass. The other collapsed. The artery they used for the LAD "widow maker" is working great and was able to sustain me by itself and has built a reroute to my heart. I needed quad bypass and only got triple. So I dont have much working piping ATM. I am going to probably have to look into some experimental surgery options in the future. They added a long lasting nitrogen and changed me from plavix to brilinta. Hoping those help. Also cut almost all the meat out of my diet.

I am over it now and ready to get back on living.

Sorry to hear it from both of you. Hope the best for you both and will keep you in my prayers.

I have been cuttting some unwanted fat for about 8 weeks and PR's have been a thing of the past for a while. Today I was able to deadlift 405x2 though with some inspiration and encouragement from a few members on here. I had previously pulled 405x1 a few times when weighing 180 and up, but haven't been able to pull it even once since going under 180. I weighed 172 this morning.

Thank you all. I thought the second one went easy as well, but as soon as I pulled on the third one I knew I was done. Still feels good to get it after the past few weeks of feeling weak as crap.

    275 / 170 / 347 - total 794 lbs @ 164.6 lbs *yep I'm fluffy to put it nicely*

    Gratz on your 1st meet.

As far as advise goes, your video didn't provide any good judging angles. That said, the meet itself is the best learning experience you can have. Hope to see more PL meet videos in the future.

I've advised my also novice videographer that at the next one to get a better angle. I learned a lot leading up to the meet about what not to do . . . like over think or stress for days on end as it doesn't help. I plan to share my future PL vids here in the Ov35 as a lot of you have "been there done that" as it were . . . I'm hooked on the sport and want to keep working to better my form and maxes. Once again thanks.

Not sucky dips at all! 27 reps and all deep = really impressive!
    Great work Dru!

I am really sorry to hear that! You've done really well recovering and regaining mass since the original OHS and you have been an inspiration to many of us. Were you having pain or was it just picked up with a routine follow-up? I hope that it all sorts out for you and that you will get back to your lifting, even if it may be further down the track!

I had previously pulled 405x1 a few times when weighing 180 and up, but haven't been able to pull it even once since going under 180. I weighed 172 this morning.

Great work Eric! Down 8 lbs and you repped 405!
You got those 2 reps nicely and I thought you had that 3rd rep as well.
    I'm seriously jealous!
