How do you make your protein shakes thicker without having to add extra calories like a real smoothie. Preferably no carbs or fat. Right now i'm only using 2 sccops of whey, water, and ice, and sometimes pb in a blender.

Perfect Shake FTW:
2 scoops whey, some vanilla extract, 1tsp cinnamon, 2 egg whites, 3 packets splenda and about 1/2-1cup ice, with 10oz water. Pop in blender or my favorite is THE MAGIC BULLET and rock and roll. Egg whites give it some fluff and give you some bonus protein that ya can't even taste!"Not ALL engineers are fat and lazy...."

don't mean to deviate from the original post/thread...
but, I have recently incorporated oats into my shake.
My shake is as follows.... 2 scoops of Whey, Banana, Whole milk, Peanut Butter, and 2 servings of Oats. Now, it taste GREAT, tons of cals/carbs/protein, but the dadgum oats are scratchy.
That is, I don't enjoy drinking the oats. Is there any trick to making the oats blend better so I cannot notice them? I didn't try cooking them yet, but... just wondering if anyone had some info on this.
TIA.

It's probably been mentioned, but frozen fruit & milk help thicken up whey shakes. Some people add pudding mix also. If you like really thick protein shakes, check out Scivation whey. I found it to be obnoxiously thick (literally had to chew it when mixed with milk & banana), but you might enjoy that brand.
