What's up guys. Yesterday wrapped up the end of Week 1 with my 2nd run of Madcow.
Two negatives to MC that I noticed yesterday, well I noticed it before but yeah.
1). The workout takes easily over an hour. Those who strength train know you're taking longer rest periods in between sets. Add that with more than one compound lift in a workout, it makes for a long lifting session which is a draw back to me.
2). Sh!t is taxing. 3 compound lifts in a single workout is taxing on anybody I don't care who you are.
Last night's workout took almost 2 f'n hours to finish. This has me contemplating continuing MC but I don't just want to quit.
Anyways that's my synopsis so far.
Here was my workout from lat night.
Squats
130x5
160x5
190x5
220x5
260x3
190x8
Bench
95x5
120x5
145x5
170x5
200x3
145x8
Pendlay Row *All sets done with a hook grip
85x5
110x5
130x5
150x5
175x3
*Skipped the set up 8 reps. My lower back was just done at that point.
Lat pulldowns
100x10
120x8
120x8
110x8
110x8
Chest supported rows single arm
50x8
50x10
50x10
*Didn't really like these. Felt to much action going on in my left shoulder and not enough of a stretch like I get with DBs.
Band pull aparts
3x10

That is a crazy workout, I can understand your thoughts on the Madcow routine and how taxing it is. If you can power through it yu will see some incredible gains with this.

That is probably a good idea.
There are some days where 45 minutes on the weight floor kills me but most days when I am dialed in and focused I could stay for hours and still not get enough. I have to force myself to leave to keep from over-training.UnCut ~ My Pre-workout of choice!!

What's up guys.
Today was the start of Week 2, Day 1 with MC.
I weighed in this morning and was at 199.6....Da fuq!!! So I was getting a little over 2,700k in so i'm going to probably bump this up to 2900-3000 and weigh in next week.
Let's get to the workout.
2/10/13
Preworkout: Animal Rage
Squats
130x5
160x5
195x5
230x5
260x5
Bench
100x5
125x5
150x5
175x5
200x5
DB Row
75x10
85x10
95x10
100x12 *used a wrist strap on this last set
Ab roller
4x12
I felt strong today with my squat and bench. I was definitely in the zone today. I ditched the Pendlay rows cause honestly I didn't want to deal with swapping out the weights each set. Instead I went with some heavy DB rows which I really love. Overall great start to week 2. Stay Strong(er). My training log: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=178464441
