I did this in my room until I got a bench. You really need a bench, but what I did was dumbbell press. Hard to explain how I did it but I used pillows for safety. Again, get a bench. You can only go so far without one.

its better then nothing but you won't really get a full range of motion. check out craigslist, a cheap bench won't cost much at all.

    x2

Floor press is an awesome exercise, but it's no substitute for your standard bench press.
You're not employing as much chest with floor press.

What floor presses are for is to hit your intermediate muscles more then just your chest. You let your elbows hit the floor so that way it works things like your tris and shoulders more then your chest so it will strengthen them

Yes you can! What you need is a step stool, yoga mat, and a heavy lifting bar with the weights fused to the ends. Put the yoga mat on the stepping stool and get down. I put the bar upright to the left of me, so I can just tip it to pick it up. Then you start pressing. The stepping stool allows you to bring your arms down to the chest completely. Yoga mat makes it soft. Hope this helps.
