I'm here in Raleigh. Moved here almost four years ago from the SF Bay Area. Wasn't really impressed by the gyms here ( hours are too short and you pay too much for membership fees ) and still not. I joined Gold's Gym, then Beyond Fitness, and now I'm at the one that used to be Fitsouth ( Millenium ).
Back in CA, I went to 24 Hour Fitness and loved it. Super hours plus you had access to a pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna, and basketball court. And you had a photo ID card.
I liked World Gym on Wake Forest Road, but it's a hike. Millenium isn't bad and there's not much of a crowd there like Beyond has.
I did check-out the 24 Hour gym on Capital and it's pretty poor in my opinion.

Yeah I think so, never been though. Mostly use the one on Buck Jones Road, used to be an old Gold's Gym.

You are from my neck of the woods! hehe I went to crackers alot, spent alot of my money on beer and cigs like a moron. We decided to stay here in South Carolina. We are hoping to move to the Myrtle Beach area soon. My wife has an interview with Tv13. If she gets the job and the money she asked for, we will be moving that way before to long. I wish there were more bodybuilders in my area. Really sucks that people around here rather drink and smoke and rot away. There are a few guys that workout but have no goal to compete. I hope to meet someone soon to partner up with me. It is considered "weird" or "gay" around here if you post something on the gym wall about a training partner. Sad that most of the people here have their minds in the gutter. Keep posting everyone! l8r

well my wife got the job at tv13! sweet! we are starting our move tomorrow. we will be living in a town called loris, sc, which is about 40 min from myrtle beach! i am so happy! now, all i gotta do is find a local gym or plan on driving to the beach for a good gym.

i went to one that i believe was on 51 last year and it sucked...it wasn't a trail tho, it was like an old warehouse...it was like 3 minutes long for 10 bucks, and it was awful

yah its a nice area... my folks want to move to cheraw, sc though... i really enjoy rockingham. but cheraw is only 15 mins or so from me. the only downside about the gyms in rockingham is they do not have enough weight in it. Also im originally from southside VA so i have a very thick distinct southside VA rural accent .... and i cant understand what the people say in rockingham, and they cant understand me hahahOriginally Posted by bodebldr2000
