Background - I have been lifting for several years now. I haven't taken it seriously for a while until I gained weight and my health was going downhill. I made a new years resolution to get back into shape and be able to live long and be able to play with my kids and see them grow up. At one time I weighed 300 lbs. I went on a low carb diet and dropped down to 235 lbs. The lowest I have weighed was 222 lbs with about 190 of lean body mass. Over the years and having children I have packed on the pounds and got out of shape. Last year I ripped off my patella tendon and MCL from my knee. I went through 3 months of therapy and I am still unable to run. I just recently been able to use the stair master. I had to start out on level 1 for 5 min. Now my personal best is level 8 for 30 min. So at the beginning of the year I weighed 278 lbs. I'm down to 253 lbs. I want to drop another 30 lbs at least.
Goal - To lose 25 lbs and still keep my strength and be able to run by the end of the year.

I received my tub the other day but I have been sick for the past few days so I didn't start it right away. Finally feeling better today, at least enough to start with a light workout. I will be running CL OT multivitamin, fish oil and some sort of post workout drink after my workout along with shock therapy pre workout.
I did notice that it doesn't say how much water to use with each scoop. I'm over 200 lbs so I will be using 2 scoops per workout. I workout everyday and I rotate upper body, lower body + cardio, and cardio days.
Pre Workout (30 min prior)
2 scoops of Clyde's hard lemonade
Mixed very well, only got a little gritty at the bottom but nothing major. Went down smooth, not sure on the taste as I'm still a little stuffed up.

3 sets of 15
Crunches on exercise ball
3 sets of 20
* excellent pump all the way through even though I was not trying to push myself. I had to keep telling myself to slow down, but I had the energy to do a lot more. My chest and arms stayed pumped from the beginning all the way til the end. Can't wait til I can really push myself with this stuff after I am fully healthy. pretty impressed so far.

Just to prove I have a bad knee I have a nice 6 in long scar where they had to re-attach my patella tendon to my knee cap. Not fun. My knee cap does not sit in the same place as my other knee. Looks weird when its bent, but when its extended it looks just the same as the other.
Leg Workout + Cardio
Pre Workout
2 scoops of Shock Therapy (25 min prior)
15 body weight squats as warm up
DB Sumo Squat
100 lb x 15 reps
3 sets
Seated calf raises
160 lb x 10 reps
3 sets
Deadlifts
155 lb x 10 reps
3 sets
New Personal Record
Machine Leg Press
380 lb x 15 reps
3 sets
Leg Ext
Right Leg (good one)
90 lb x 12
100 lb x 12
110 lb x 10
left leg
40 x 12
50 x 12
60 x 10
Cardio
Stair Climber
30 min
level 8
dist - 2.94 miles
540 calories
5-10 min on the foam roller. Lots of knots in my leg. I have not done it in a while and it needed to be done.
Overall Thoughts - I'm still recovering from being sick but my strength felt good the entire time. Just had to take a few extra moments to catch my breath. Was contemplating cutting cardio but thought it was be a good idea to do some low intensity. Enough to sweat but not enough to lose my breath. I feel that I soon will be dead lifting 225 lbs. My knee seems to be holding up quite well.
Post workout - 1 serving of torrent zero - watermelon wave

I used to be really weak when I would do lat pulldowns. Back when I was 23 and 225 lbs I was
Benching 375
Deadlift 365
Leg press 1,000 x 5 reps (I'll never try that again. Thought my legs were gonna snap in half)
Lat pulldown 180 x 3
Always had problems getting strength in my back but it seems easier nowLast edited by donked007; 04-15-2012 at 04:52 PM.

Cardio Today - Oh Yeah
2 scoops of Clyde Hard Lemonade - 20 oz of water. I like using that much so I know that I'm hydrated for my long cardio sessions
Stair Climber
30 min
1st 10 min level 8
2nd 10 min level 9
next 5 min level 10
last 5 min level 11
Sweating like a pig and breathing heavy by the end of the stair climber. Feels good though
Distance - 3.30 miles
Calories - 600
Elliptical
30 min
Resistance 14
Calories - 440
Was able to keep my heart rate between 152-158 for the duration.
Post Workout - 1 serving of Torrent Zero Watermelon wave - its never tasted so good after a long workout.
Thoughts - I still have a slight cough and some flem build up. I feel strong but not quite 100%. I'm very impressed with the Endurance factor of Shock Therapy. There was no slow down today. I didn't feel my muscles burning either, only thing that slowed me down was my lungs. Can't wait to do a strong upper body workout tomorrow.
Side Note - thank you old man for picking the elliptical right next to me even though there was 10 free ones to my left and right. I just love being able to smell your terrible cologne while I workout. Thank god I only had 10 min left.

Thoughts - I was really impressed at how heavy I could go today. Last upper body workout was a light one because I was still a little sick. Today was much better. I was really ready to see what Shock Therapy could do. I did have to take some longer rest periods and at times I thought my strength was gone but I was able to pump out more reps then I thought. The pump was just getting better and better as I was working out. I left the gym feeling jacked. No crash after my workout either like some PWO's I've taken. The energy is very smooth and clean. I'm not hyper or anything but I can just keep going and going in the gym. I am very impressed with the endurance so far. I am really hoping I can break a few PR's by the end of the log. I took a pic and the end cause my muscles felt tight from the pump.

Thoughts - I am sore after my upper body workout. It feels good to be sore. To me it means I did something different to force my muscles to grow. I am thinking about changing sumo squat to BB squat. Just worried about my back and knee. I'm going to take it slow and go from there. On a good note I'm down to 250 lbs. Only 25 more lbs to my goal. I thought I was going to be wiped out after deadlifts but I was able to keep pushing. I'm happy with my endurance so far, even though I'm cutting out more carbs in my diet.

Shock Therapy thoughts so far
Taste 9/10 - hard lemonade - I had to mess around a bit to get the water right for my taste. almost 20 oz of water for 2 scoops. Its starting to grow on me. Its not sweet and there's no after taste and it goes down smooth.
Energy 9/10 - its a very clean energy. I never feel a burst of energy or hyper or anything but I don't seem to get tired either. I don't crash afterwards, bonus. I'm always able to go from start to finish with the same amount of energy.
Pump 8/10 - its not an over powering pump but I can definitely feel it when I do my upper body workout. Especially when I hit my arms with super sets. I also get the pump in my legs at the end doing leg ext.
Endurance 10/10 - I started off this log a little bit sick and I had to slow myself down even though I wanted to go harder. It just seems to get better the more I take it. My workouts take about 1-1.5 hrs to do and I don't slow down at all
Focus 7/10 - I'd say this is the weakest part so far. I'm ready to hit the gym. No tunnel vision like some PWO's.
So far its moving into my top 5 PWO's. Its much better then the orginal shock therapy I've used.Juggernaut Log (current)
