I was just wondering.. How do NBA players possess so much muscle mass??
I mean, they dont lift weights at an intense level (ive seen lebron and even dwight howard's workout routine) plus:
- they perform alot of cardio without proper nutrition in between sessions
- Although some hire personal chefs, alot of them do not follow a good nutrition plan, they just whatever they want/whenever they want
-Since they travel alot they dont always get good sleep
I am just curious, does anyone have good thoughts ?

How do NBA players - Lebron James carry so much muscles?
IIFYM - Try to get most of your macros from whole foods. They are high in micronutrients and are needed to maintain overall health

what are you talking about
they lift like beasts (howard was made fun of for being a stick in HS)
and workout FOR A LIVING
sleep (how do you know) and ive heard most of the time they can sleep intill midday when they have shootaround (its not like they go into work at 8am)
nutritionally they eat an insane amount of calories meaning they will hit protein and micronurient needs w/o tryingFounder of MMDELAD

Like for real man?? WTF you expect. Do you actually think that someone like Lebron James would be this good without working hard? Look how skinny he was in the first pic that was when he was 17-18 years old. So your telling me someone like that...on a first look has genetics.
Yes FINE...genetics..but who the hell cares. Man Lebron works hard, he eats hard...he plays hard...man he works hard....**** all this genetic bull****...who cares...if you work hard you will get just as good gains as he did. Stop all this genetic stuff...yes I know it is part of it...but some of you people say it like it the main reason.
Genetics is when you can go big without trying..aka Goku, Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z
work hard and you will get big...case closed..gosh he gained a good 30 lbs over the years...Last edited by marcellius27; 03-02-2010 at 10:34 AM.

My point...im a skinny guy too...I'm learning too. I know genetics will be part of it...genetics is like talent
but guess what.
"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."...guess who said that...Kevin Durant and he's gonna be big too.
Eat...and lift...I can't believe it..such a basic formula but still some how we sometimes mess up.
Check Dwight Howard's twitter page and twitpic..he has pictures of food everywhere

And you know what's funny...his diet is not all that clean either.Last edited by marcellius27; 03-02-2010 at 10:53 AM.

Lebron doesn't lift weights that much. He said it in sports illustrated once. He is just a genetic freak. He will lift sometimes but doesn't do many compound movements and doesnt prioritize it. Also in that article, he only eats 3 meals a day and they are just average meals (like salmon and some pasta)
So for everyone saying he weight trains like a freak and eats an insane amount, you have no idea wtf you are talking about. you are only assuming you knowLast edited by Money Shot; 03-02-2010 at 10:54 AM.

I agree. Genetics does play a part because not many people are capable of being 6'8 and 270 now, and being super fast with a crazy vertical. Its a lot more than just genetics though. He works his ass off. I've heard NBA insiders say that Lebron has developed into a weight room addict. Also you can check out his explosive training on youtube, where he runs and jumps with a giant rubberband tied around his waist. You don't just gain 30 pounds of muscle by playing basketball...

Exactly...like can you look at a skinny lebron james and say...damn man your gonna be a genetic freak...yeah it may be in his genetics....he got the potential...potential means your not doing it yet...so you still have to work hard. OP just work hard...and you will get your gains..then one day someone is gonna come to you and say 'OMG your such a genetic freak."
