Olympic athletes are basically the prime version of humanity, as good as it gets. Not to mention almost all Olympians are in their low to mid 20s(aka before women go completely downhill).

Also throw in that they're actually looking after themselves, rather than slooting out several times a week, boozing, losing sleep, eating bad food, etc. Same goes for the guys.

That's not what he is saying, it (usually) takes talent and money for an athlete to succeed. If someone has the genetics to be an amazing athlete but doesn't have the opportunity to train at top facilities then they probably won't make it to that level.
