    Squatting Daily

    G'day all,

Was just wondering how many of you squat every day. Now, I know a lot of you are simply dabbling in Olympic lifting, but for the real serious guys out there, how frequently do you squat? I know of several world class weightlifters who squat 7 times a week. I've adopted this training frequency myself and find that if I miss a day, I'm substantially weaker the following day.

What are your thoughts on squatting every day?

I lift 4x a week, I squat 4x a week. 2x back and 2x front squat. Every training session is also a squatting session. Of course with such frequency you have to be conservative with the volume so I don´t do very long sets.
    Strength + Speed = Power

If you never fail, you aren't truly pushing yourself to the limit. If you never push yourself to the limit, how do you know what you're truly capable of?

When I was training exclusively for OL, I was squatting at least 8 times a week. You get used to it.

If I were to train twice a day (session 1 being squats and session 2 being cleans/snatches/complexes), do I squat morning or evening?

For me personally, I very rarely trained without squatting. I was following the traditional Bulgarian approach, the three-lift daily max system. So twice daily squats were pretty standard.
