I went with the slotted. Main reason being that I fell in love with the look of the Urethane Slotted when I got started.
I soon figured out that I love the "clang" of iron weights.
I found a good CL deal on the slotted OMEZS plates and I was hooked.
I do like the looks of the revolvers and plan on getting a pair of the 100lbers in the future.
For now though, I love my slotted set.

OMEZH. I don't like that hammertone paint or whatever it is called, it is always coming off in a dusty sense. I just hope that it doesn't have lead or something.
As I mentioned in the cost no object thread, I have about 30 OMEZH 45 lb plates. 3 of them have a small 0.5 mm ridge along one side of the center hole that prevents those 3 from going on some weight horns and a couple bars. I need to get those replaced. They are my favorite plates though, I really like the holes and design.

Its almost a toss up between the revolver and slotted. I like the look of the revolver better, but slotted is more comfortable in my hand. I don't like the rubber or urethane since damage to the finish can't really be repaired. Whereas with metal, you can always just repaint. I actually went with the Intek grip because the slot conformed to my hand shape better, but I also found a good deal on them used.

I agree, that is a really cool space saving horizontal rack.
I like the Rogers Athletic best for plates only, but this is a nice configuration that would be useful for space saving along a wall. I was looking into wall mounted rack and bar accessory holders. I believe some people even use peg boards.

Rubber. Colored rubber. Covered colored rubber revolvers.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

This! I know its individual preference but I'll never understand the want of rubber coated plates in a home gym. Maybe it's the old thinking of 'if it costs more it must be better'.
I just like the sound of plates and lifting in general, rubber coated takes away from that IMO. An argument for longevity in a home gym between rubber coated and not would be ridiculous, however I could understand it coming from a commercial gym's point of view.[]---[] Equipment Crew #30 []---[]

The best place to buy the plate/bar holder is at amfitness $149.95 inc/ s&h on ebay:
