Great press, great bencher. Congrats to Eric on breaking the record.

I'm not surprised he was chill at all. He's just like that. He'll do something ridiculous in the gym and it's no big deal to him. Stan and Creed and everyone else watching are shaking their heads and he just hops up off the bench and takes his wraps off like he's done it a million times.
Come to think of it now that he has done 722 and has that confidence that he lost after missing 716 three times we may see a scary number put up by him in the future. You could tell he was nervous as hell when he bombed. He was much more cool and collected this time attempting 716 and even more so going for 722. Now he can just have fun and that may yield something mindblowing.1708 total @220 Raw
Improve my total every time I step on the platform.

It's very interesting, at least in my mind, that the only competition Spoto has in the bench world atm is the Iranian paralympic lifter Siamad something-rather. He's done 320 kgs (go figure lbs, 700 range) with a loooong pause (I mean really long) and the man has no legs O_o
Also he's not very old either, under 30. Alot under 30 if I recall! Years to come will be super exciting! Too bad they won't ever compete under the same roof considering which feds they take part in and because Siamad is an olympic lifter after all, but still! Let the race to 750 begin (Albeit Siamad hasn't done 720+ in comp at least, no idea about his gym max. Scary how he unracks it himself and just toys with 700+ though.)660 / 484 / 600 @ 270 lbs

Congratulations Eric!
The length of the pause is irrelevant in competition. You press when you get the press command. If you want to lollygag around with your macho self and pause the bench, go ahead and pause your max squats for an extended period of time and let me know how that works out for you.
If anything, a longer pause is a sign you are not holding the bar motionless on your chest.
A normal person wants that press command as soon as possible after the bar touches the bench.

So, so sick.
Would have been nice to have a bit of a longer pause to have no doubts about it but it's definitely more legit than Mendelson's.202.5/135/245. Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=165241801.

Not sure how his size has changed since The Backyard Meet, but I have to say he is quite possibly the thickest human being I've ever seen...and, when I saw him/spoke to him, he was standing in a room with some legit monsters to compare him to...Urbank, Brent Willis, Efferding, Lilly, Lilliebridges, etc

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere else, but I just saw this on Yahoo Sports, found it interesting that it made it there. Also interesting that they mistaken wrist wraps for gloves.
