We all know Nate Marquardt and Chael Sonnen got busted for high levels. I just had my testosterone tested and it came back 458 ng/dl. Kinda low IMO. I feel sluggish as hell with low sex drive (serious). Sonnen's levels were 3400 I read. Could someone with low test take testosterone replacement therapy and still compete in MMA if the levels weren't over the limit? What exactly is the limit?

Well you still didn't tell me the limit on the levels. Is there a limit? Or do they just look and see 1500 ng/dl and assume PEDS!?

I dunno what the mma regulations are, but I'm on HRT (I'm 39 years old) and they keep my levels between 600 and 1,200. I take a 200mg (1cc of test enanthate) injection every 8 days.
I didn't follow the Sonnen drug test story, so I don't know the specifics, but a level of 3,400 is WAY above the "normal" range for non-PED using people, young or old. My understanding is that the range for twenty something, healthy, drug free athletes is 400 to 1,000.
Your feelings of sluggishness and low libido could also come from overtraining, from a diet that's too low in carbs and/or from situational depression. Once you start using (meaning, running more than a cycle or two) you'll probably have to pick between using for the rest of your life or having your "natural" test level be lower than ever. The more you use and the longer you use the more your body will depend on getting the test from an outside source (lower natural production.)Stay Strong,

According to this chart, 400 ng/dl is not normal at all for a 26 year old man. It's normal for a 75-84 year old man.http://www.mens-hormonal-health.com/...ls-in-men.html
But my Dr says I'm within normal levels. I sure don't feel like it. I have literally no sex drive or energy for workouts. I get tired about 10 mins into my lift. It's not over training. I can't get the energy to train. This never used to happen a few years ago. I wanted to compete in MMA but there is no way I have the energy or testosterone levels to compete.

Wow WRX you're in the 300s and the Doc won't do anything about it and says you're fine. That's messed up. I think we basically have to tell our Dr something must be done or we will have to take actions on our own.

Testosterone is suppressed through constant heavy training, try taking two weeks off and retest, if it is higher then, you have your answer.
Age 26 and considering TRT, not sure if SRS.When all that says 'it is good' has been debunked, what says 'I want' remains.

You said you were 458? That's not HRT low from what I've been told and read. That's just the lower end of average (and who wants to be that, right?)
And a 458 test level wouldn't cause you to have "Literally no sex drive or energy for workouts." There's tens of thousands of men out there who are in the 400s and who have sex and exercise. And your hormone situation is a lot more complicated than just a number score from one of many blood tests.Stay Strong,

I think the TS might be suffering from depression and stress? Those things can cause you to have low libido and test levels. I wouldn't try to get TRT at all, just because you will be reliant on it and once off the stuff you will really hit the lows man. If you stop having morning wood does that mean your test is low?

Well its Kaiser for one and its real hard to get anything decent from them. Mind you thats on a good week and when I worked out consistently for 2 years, my gains were piss poor. Strength and mood are pretty low for someone thats been lifting 5 yearsish. Im sure I could alter my results to show them on the low side but its still pretty sad that they consider someone with test levels around 250ish normal. Especially someone in their 20s and 30s.
I could definitely benefit from Sonnen or Hendo levels.49ers, Lakers, A's, Stanford
