Oatmeal Causing Acne?

Recently I have been eating a ton of raw steel cut oatmeal, like 3-4 cups a day. My face is starting to get greasy and breakout. Is there a reason oatmeal is causing this? Is it because the oatmeal is raw? Is there a vitamin or something i can eat to counter this? any help is appreciated.

I didn't have it until i starting eating tons of oatmeal. Is it because of the carb overload?

If you have even a slight allergy to gluten, which oats contain, it can cause acne breakouts.

Either way, avenin can have the same effects as gluten on somebody depending on their sensitivity.

The only way to know if oatmeal/gluten/avenin is causing the acne is the go gluten free and see if it changes anything.

Diet is rarely the cause of acne. Check out cleansing products with "tea tree oil" in them. This sound like a complete BS gimmick, but there is some scientific support for it - and personally it has worked really well for me. The tea tree oil kills the bacteria responsible for acne.
