Why is one arm larger than the other?

    Hello everyone,

The problem I am experiencing is that my left arm is about 1-1/2 inches smaller than my right arm. My right arm/bicep is also noticably more vascular than my left even though my left seems to be more "lean" than my right. There doesn't seem to be a difference in the strength levels so I'm not sure if I should specifically train for this or if there are other options I may consider?

I appreciate any help or advice.

You posted this in sports training, are/were you an athlete? It is fairly common for athletes that play a sport that focuses on one half of their body to have an imbalance in their muscles, Baseball players, Tennis players, kickers etc all see this.

As far a if you should train for it it depends on your goals. If you are going for looks and aesthetic balance then yeah, you need to train for it. If you are training for sports performance then you need to decide if it is helping or hindering you and train accordingly.

I think I meant to post this in just the general forum, sorry about that.

I guess my biggest concern is if it is a circulatory problem, when I say there is a difference in vascularity it is a big difference. Other than that it would just be for aesthetic's.

    Thanks for the reply

As long as you're not going into professional bodybuilding, I don't see why this is too much of a problem. It doesn't sound like a vascular or circulatory problem, and if the strength levels of both arms is equal like you said, you should be fine. Out of all your muscles that can get imbalanced, your biceps are a huge one.
