Hi all, I have recently re started my training, i eat well before i workout, take a cellmass shake (bsn) immediately after workout, and then 30-45 mins later I take a whey protein shake (optimum nutrition gold standard). I have recently purchased some BCAA tablets from MyProtein.com. I was just wondering when to take the BCAA tablets? at first i thought straight away after workout, but then didnt know if that wud conflict with the cellmass?
Also, I wanted to hear your opinions on how much BCAA to consume? I have heard to consume 4-8 grams, and since optimum gold stanard gives me 5g, and the tablets will give me another 3g, i just wanted to know if iv got the proportion right?
Thanks guys appreciate the time u take to reply

The BCAAs in your whey protein are protein bound aminos. The BCAAs in your tablets are free form meaning they will be spiking your blood plasma amino levels much higher.
Try 6 G post with your whey shake and 6 G when you get up.NSCA CSCS

Personally I take BCAA (min. of 3g Leucine) First thing at wake up, during my morning workout, during my night workout and right before bed. Its a great sup and is inexpensive vrs the recovery and growth results.

BCAA's should be taken pre, intra & post training. Look at the profiles of recovery supplements in these categories and you will see most of them have BCAA's in it. There are pre's out there that are centered around energy & endurance & you can mix BCAA's with them.
Personally first thing in the AM I take Myofusion. It has some whey hydrolysates in it plus whey isolate that is fast acting. BCAA's in the morning aren't necessary considering whey shakes have a good dose of BCAA's already.
The reason you want BCAA's around training is because they absorb within 15min into the muscle therefore other times during the day are not necessary. Great for lifting & cardio. No other times are necessary. The other reason they are great for around training other then being fast acting is they spike muscle protein synthesis with the aminos that are very necessary when it comes to muscle building. These have both anabolic & anticatabolic properties. Most BCAA sups also contain Glutamine which is more of an anticatabolic amino acid IMO. Leucine is the most anabolic so look for a solid dose of Leucine. Glutamine, Leucine, Isoluecine & Valine are the most prevalent aminos in muscle tissue.

This is headed into a metabolite discussion & that's not where my intrest lies. I've read many studies on BCAA supplements. I care about the outcome and that's it. I never said good for the muscles I said they repair muscle tissue.

Except you're missing the point where he called out his intelligence on a bodybuilding forum and about bodybuilding topics. Those are fair things to expect a knowledgeable person here to understand.
Quit trying to act cool when you're using logic of him being out of context when you yourself aren't paying attention to context....

I was just reading this thread trying to learn a thing or two, I'd like to understand this process better. Protein is broken down into free amino acids right? So once they're broken down they would act the same way, it would just take a little longer to get there. This is a serious question not trying to start an argument or anything.
