No worries I have to keep working on my form all the time.
Also your form is better evaluate your hips are way lower.
You might sacrifice a few pounds, but you could do a clean style Deadlift.

you need to tailor programs to yourself, not conform yourself to a program you don;t fully 100% agree with. you gotta know when and how to make adjustments, not robotically try to follow a rep/set scheme and then jump ship when you can't complete the reps (which is probably because you set your max too high... submaximal is the way to start programming..)

I have given up trying to get my mates in the gym. It takes an obsessed depraved type of man to squat and deadlift themselves into oblivion lol.
Well if you wanna do possibly the best program around for increasing your squat, just let me know. I'll be making the switch from GSLP in the next few weeks and it'd be awesome to have someone start at the same time.Powerlifter 160/100/195/455kg @ 91.55

****e sorry balls **** terrible day
Squats
225x3
275x2 - way too hard
275x2 - widened stance
225 3x5 still hard
Bench
185 2x3 paused
185x5 tng
Rows too hard.
****ing miserable day at the gym. Going to completely deload my squats. not sure what messed em up so bad. Likely a combination of squatting in a suit, using wraps for all sets and running Sheiko. Seems like anytime I stray from SS I get weak as ****. Time to attempt to bulk again. Or at least not eat so little.
Deloading my squats and deads to 225.trying to get strong again

Sh!t happens mate, we all have bad days. I read a blog called Lift Run Bang and the guy who writes it, Paul Carter, is a decent powerlifter. He only trains in suits, wraps and shirts in the week or 2 before a meet as training equipped doesn't increase your raw strength. Raw training FTW.

How many times have you failed squats/deads? What is your program's protocol for deloading? That's weird just the other day when I posted in your thread you seemed to be kicking ass and now all of a sudden you're feeling so weak and considering changing programs.
I feel you on the frustration though. When you can't lift the weight you could before and just plan to deload a ****load of weight. If you haven't failed more than once on the same weight then I'd try it again. Good luck man and you're mad strong you could do it.TM Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=145984543&highlight=pyaarawala

decided conventional isn't for me. my back still aches and I just can't get into position. might be scoliosis, might be horrible flexibility but it's probably just excuses. so I decided to work on my sumo form, seems a lot of the guys have an extremely wide stance. so I tested it out. the rom is much shorter but getting into position is a bit awkward. 405x1 was very very very easy. i'll be hitting prs very soon, prolly start at 365x3 and work up adding 10lbs a session.
also time for dat bulk to 190ish
this is the stance im going for

Why don't you reset to a certain point that makes progression easier?
Why start at a heavy triple when you could start at a moderate 5 and give yourself some room to grow.
Starting too heavy will just yield more problems like right now.the latest and greatest in training...or whatever.

Squats were really easy. Probably could have hit 10+ reps on the final set, but I don't feel like AMARP on squats especially since my knee is bugging me. Surprised myself on bench that 8th rep was the hardest rep I've ever completed. I actually gave up on it and was lowering the weight to do the roll of shame and said **** it and started pushing again and completed it haha. **** probably took 10 seconds
Everything else great good besides from being tired from work. +10lbs a session on squats til I get up to 300ish then I'll probably start TMtrying to get strong again

Fair enough. Why such a big drop off in strength? When did you set that PR? I thought you had been quite consistent.
Your VD weight there is 90.5% of your ID. That's quite high. Apparentely ~85% is good to start with and should drive progress just fine, but I guess it depends on how hard you want to work. I wanna do the least amount possible to get stronger.
Edit: In the TM ebook, he says to start your VD at around 90% of your 3x5. Start it with ramped sets in your first week around that 90% mark and pick a weight from those sets that feels decently challenging to use for straight sets in your 2nd week if that makes sense. Puts your first week at more like 260,265,270,275,280. Then week 2 might be 270x5.Last edited by GinjaNinja85; 11-14-2012 at 03:05 AM.

Sheiko and using a squat suit made my raw squat a lot weaker. I should be up to par pretty soon though. 270 5x5 seems easy lol. First time I started TM I did something like 305 5x5. Probably why I never made a single pr though.
340x5 happened back in my SS days prolly around May or June. Thanks for the info, I'll try to start at 85%. I'm clueless as to where my 5RM is atm. I hit 335x5 2 months ago but I used loose knee wraps.trying to get strong again
