whats bad for me probably isnt bad for you. i dont eat it because i have slightly high blood pressure, and therefore need to watch my sodium intake- which most canned meat has in spades. not to mention various other horrible preservatives that are ridden in there

The real killer is the sodium, most canned meats are packed with it

Lot of sodium, but they are so damn convenient that I use them because my schedule makes it hard to prepare fresh.

if i ate tuna every day, i'd be more worried about mercury than sodium. everything in moderation

been on the anabolic diet for about 2 months.. canned salmon, sardines, smoked kippers canned tuna in olive oil, and canned dark meat chicken has been very helpful. If you can find Valley Fresh chicken.. it has sea salt and chicken, that's all. Rubenstein's canned red salmon is also very good. I always rinse it in the sink 5-6 times before taking the lid out. Ex. Cut the lid, fill it with water, squish the top up and down to squeeze the salt out.. pour it out, repeat 5 times. Get's rid of A LOT of salt.

I'm a fan of it's convenience when I am in a hurry sometimes. I'll throw a can of chicken on my salad or something. I MUCH prefer left over cut up grilled chicken, but hey, can't always get it in.
Go ahead, make fun of me being a light weight! I like me, that's all that matters.

that doesnt mean excessive sodium intake is good for you
You are possibly getting too much sodium to compensate for being dehydrated from not eating enough carbs

nevertheless you won't die of eating too much sodium. im not saying one should indulge into eating just anything, just keep track of whats in what you eat.

And again , there are articles you can link to that say almost ANYTHING can someday kill you Anything in excess can trigger an effect, there are way too many particular issues with every individual that are not so obvious. Food sensitivities, general health issues, bacteria, parasites, digestive issues, etc...

I would rather worry about a zillion other things than sodium. I've been avoiding packaged meat that contains monosodium glutamate (I hear in the USA it can come under many names though if it's not 100% m.s.g.) Anyway it's not an easy task, it's in at least 75% of all packaged meat. It's a ****ing toxin, makes your brain cells fire up too quickly and frequently or put differently - it makes food taste better than it should, and it comes at a great price. Something that prolly won't kill you but has no problem in contributing to diabetes and weight issues and definitely to dumbing you out throught the years. It's disease-in-a-can and should be seriously avoided.
