It went great! Thanks for asking.
The gig is in CT, so I'll be there next week and the week after to talk to some folks and see how things pan out. Usually, these things take ~1-2 months before everything is finalized, but I'm excited.
My only issue is that I've always lived here in Boston, so maintaining a residence in CT and going back and forth would be painful. But they seem okay with that arrangement. Let's see -- keeping my fingers crossed.

Seriously considering not counting calories anymore. Some days I don't really feel like eating, and other days I feel like eating and not caring about a limit. In the end it all evens out because I choose sensible portions and the food is healthy so starting to wonder why I go through the trouble. All I eat is meat, veggies, dairy and nuts. Was losing weight just as fast not counting on paleo...liked not having to worry about meeting or not meeting numbers. Feel at a crossroads right now.

Stop then. You know now how much you should be eating, unless you have specific time limits on your goals then you don't need to be so anal about it. If you trust yourself to do it without counting then go for it.

If you can not count and continue to make progress, than why not? Just know that counting calories is in your toolbox if/when you stall.
I think I could continue to lose without counting, but I just like counting now. It's almost a game for me....to see what kind of tasty foods I can fit into my cals/macros. But, if you dread doing it, than try going without it.

You're right...I don't have a specific time limit so I guess it really isn't such a big deal. Guess I've been letting some of the chastising get to me. Many are convinced you have to count and have argued with me about it to the point where I became influenced that I was being naive not to do so.
Yea, that's how I'm starting to feel
thanks for the input cnh, you're right, not worth dreading it if I can get same / similar results. It was fun at first, but I find it allows me to be less impulsive...which is a big deal to me because my appetite is very random. Going to try it for a couple weeks to see if I can keep shedding around 1-2lbs a week.Last edited by missladyj; 11-09-2012 at 02:28 PM.

I took a weekend off of counting. Hated it. Now back on it with a vengeance. Might be good to just take a short break at least, then see what you want to do once you've been not doing it for a few days.

I would definitely stop counting if I could trust myself to get enough protein, enough fat and not over eat. Sadly, I can't.

lol...that is true. Maybe I'll see that I really need to count haha, either way, I get a better idea of what works for me.
hahahaha
Not going to lie...wouldn't mind enjoying some no sugar added ice cream every once in a while lol . The way I'm currently eating, one serving would just about kill my carbs for the day. Been saving carbs for mostly veggies since they usually have between 1-10g only. Now that I'm trying to be more active it's getting to be a hassle.

I can't believe Andre didn't want to have his pituitary gland fixed. Cut his life way too short.

@misslady: Do you find you need more carbs now that you are upping your activity? Maybe paleo will energize you better? &If counting calories is a hassle for you and you get good results without, I don't see a reason to do it. Don't fix what isn't broken is what I always say. Might still be a good idea to track protein intake if you tend to go too low on that, don't want to get skinnyfat. : P

Yup, def need more carbs. I was pretty much sedentary when I first started so everything was fine...but now I'm getting more into the strength approach and am looking to do multiple sets of exercises throughout the day. Noticed it was starting to get more difficult to squeeze additional reps out and make gains. I think Paleo would be much better now since I got rid of some fat and am starting to enjoy exercising. It would be a good idea to track protein...maybe I will do that in a week or two, but for now I feel like f*ck myfitnesspal lol.

Serp I'm going to rape you when I get the chance then steal all your ice-cream and your collections of containers as my trophy.
As a Turkish person you can imagine the envy that pools within me... Dammit Canada, I'm moving to America so I can bodybuild as a serious hobby and enjoy better quality ice cream in my macros.(semi-srs)
I pretty much always lurk the B&J and MEN thread on the regular and cry a little inside because 1800 calories is a bitch to even try having a little fun on.
Oh and the seasonal threads, I'm a pink wearing ******* for seasonal stuff.
