First let me say there's a difference between staring, and noticing. For example, I never stare at women at the gym when they're stretching/exercising, mainly because I don't want to be seen as a weirdo or pervert or anything like that, but I'm sorry, when a woman with a nice body comes in with a 2 piece workout outfit on that shows her breasts and is tight, I just can't help but at least look out the corner of my eye at her sometimes if she's near, and neither can the other men, even the much older obviously married ones. That's just noticing her in my opinion, like any human notices another human.
But what I want to know is, how do you women feel about it when you notice a guy looks at you every once in a while or if he stares? I sometimes might turn around and a lady is doing something right by me and I notice and look for like half a second, or her breasts may be kind of showing or she's wearing pretty revealing tight stuff and I feel like I'm in the wrong because I saw her breasts or whatever and I feel like she noticed and may be thinking I'm there to just look at women or something, and I'm not at all. I think women who feel offended by this should use good judgment when choosing what to wear to the gym, some guys are just gonna stare regardless, but come on, don't wear booty shorts and a short sports bra looking thing to the gym and hop on the thigh master or butt blaster, you're asking to get stared at.
So what I'm saying is, do you just brush it off, do you take it as kind of a compliment or what? Obviously most women aren't going to like it when a guy flat out stares. I was at the gym the other day and a guy maybe in his 30's was just flat out staring at this girl's butt who couldn't have been over 21, and I'll admit, she was gorgeous, but dang, why flat out stare and you're not even gonna approach her? I felt kind of embarrassed for men, and I'm 22.

Well, personally I exercise at home so can't comment from experience - not that I'm currently in the category to be on the receivng end of any admiring looks anyway, but going on past experience from when I was in better shape and would dress in somewhat tighter / more revealing stuff than I do now when going out, I had no problem with 'noticing' and ignored any 'staring'. I was always aware that if I was wearing something tight or revealing I wasn't going to provoke the same response as if I was dressed like a nun. Noticing can be complimentary, staring can be disturbing.
I'd say noticing is fine, staring is rude, but as long as you're not camped out with a pair of binoculars and a box of donuts, you're probably okay.

I don't get stared at too much at the gym as I always usually look hidious and deffinately don't care, but when people do it makes me nervous and its really off putting and can effect my workout to the point where I will leave early. I def don't get offended but it annoys me because I don't go to the gym to be stared at I just want to workout without being noticed.
I have complete control over my body. What I eat and what I do reflect that. Nobody can stop my progress. I will continue my progress until my goals are met. Then from there I will need to achieve new goals to keep the forward progression of my mind, body, and soul. I motivate myself every day to work out, eat healthy, and live my life to the fullest.

I'm fairly new to the gym, but my gym has a "ladies only" section, still with all the same weights/machines/cardio equipment etc. So I don't really have that issue. However, I can imagine, as a gym newbie, I'd be quite intimidated being stared at while trying to work out.

If I am into my workout, I don't really notice if a guy is starring. But, I have been at my gym for 5 years now and everyone is pretty much a regular there.... So they all know me anyway

One of the things that can give woman the impression that your 'creepy' is continually looking away just as she notices you looking at her. Don't think she doesn't know. She does! The easiest way to avoid this is to simply not look away. Instead, continue to look. Make eye contact, and with a smile say "HI". A smile and a few words can make the situation better for both!

I focus on my workouts and never make eye contact...so if someone is staring I wouldn't even know...

if someone notices me and looks I don't really care (I'd prefer you say hi). I don't like when someone just stares. there's this one guy in my gym who works out with his wife/gf who sat next to me when I was doing seated calve raises and just looked at me. I finished up and left, I could have said something, but he's the type that bosses his wife/gf around and just seems like an a$$

x2. I'm not at the gym to socialize, or waste time. I have 60 minutes to do my workout, I do all my exercises in supersets and the only times I look up is when I'm spying for a free barbell/dumbbell/machine. Personally, tho, I don't understand guys that do that "stare" stuff. It's like standing in front of an ice-cream stand and staring like a kid with no pocket money.

I usually don't notice too much. I'm too busy getting my workout done. Although there was a weirdo in the gym a couple times that creeped me out so bad I had one of the regular guys walk me to my car.

so is the lesson to take from this if you get caught looking say hi? I gotta admit i've definitely been guilty of getting caught looking, though the girls never look like they mind.

You know what you should do? Find a counter that's REALLY close to her. If there aren't any, then build one really quickly out of some pallets near the dumpster. Put your elbows on the counter and interlace your fingers and then let your chin rest on your fingers while you stare at her while imaginary hearts emanate from your head and pop up into the air.

I would expect to be stared at if I wore what you described (breasts exposed, booty shorts, etc.) I wouldn't blame the poor guy if he wasn't able to refrain from taking a peek if I put it out there...
...however, that's why I wear plain 'ol t-shirts and boring shorts. That way nobody stares at me for my body, as it's not an alluring look
Don't feel bad if you can't help but notice. Heck, I even look, because it's hard not to notice an attractive body.

My wife says she never notices guys staring at her when she works out. We generally work out in the same area of the gym so I constantly guys checking out her ass and everything else. I'm not a jealous guy and can't blame them because she is freaking hot, But I do make sure to walk over and give her a little kiss between every few sets just to let them know.

Maybe she isn't really that pretty, and you're just imagining that guys are checking her out when they aren't. Because I swear everytime a couple comes in the dude acts like every guy is checking out his woman and like stares every guy down. I just wanna beat the **** out of those guys.

I get a lot of looks from women at the gym, I love it.
If I know one is looking I'll mess my hair or something with a flexed arm, if her husband is there he doesnt know what to do, he just continues to ride the stairmaster while I curl another 45

i like to see how people react in uncomfortable situations so if i get caught staring at a girl i continue to do so until there is a reaction..usually its a couple second stareback and look away or a smile or nod..nothing too extreme so far haha
It's pronounced Canada, and no I haven't
