For several months now I have been craving a twinkie, I remembered last eating one probably about 12 or 13 years ago, today I was at the store and I decided, "Hell, I am here," and I threw a box in my cart. I sat down, opened it up, savored the smell for about 3 seconds, I noticed that it has a different feel than I remember when I was a kid, more cake and less sponge. I finally bit into it and it tasted OK I will give them that, but it was not the same as the last I remembered. The outside was a harder, the inside was filled on either end leaving a spot where there was no cream and I felt like such an idiot since I could have just savored the way I THOUGHT it would taste and eat some junk food I could actually enjoy. (It was not bad tasting but it is the national snack of fat guys and was so not worth it, in my opinion.) Anyone else notice that the stuff you liked when you were a kid is just not as good anymore? E.g. Sunny D(elight). What is your favorite cheat food?

I used to love coke/pepsi slurpees when I was younger, then I stopped drinking them for a while, last time I had one I got an upset stomach from all that sugar, it just made me remember why I was such a fatass when I was younger

Kids don't seem to have very sophisticated taste buds, maybe that's why things that tasted good as a kid taste like crap now. I used to eat ketchup sandwiches when I was a kid; I couldn't imagine doing something like that now.
Okay, have you ever been around chickens? They are stupid, uncooperative, inconvenient, ill-tempered creatures. They get what they deserve. [Bleep] chickens.

Just wait until you're my age, kid, and everything has even cheaper ingredients than they use today. Twinkies actually tasted like vanilla spongecake when I was your age. Count Chocula was made with oats instead of corn and actually tasted like chocolate. High fructose corn syrup was practically non-existant as an additive...the list goes sadly on and on.

Twinkies were amazing when I was little. Snickers too, now they're too sweet for me. I used to be a butterscotch pudding fiend as a kid but now it's too sweet for me and I prefer chocolate or vanilla. Ironically enough when I was a kid I HATED chocolate and thought it was too bitter. The sweetest chocolate candy in the world was way too bitter, except of course Snickers (Caramel helped out) Funny thing is, as a kid I hated Twizzlers too because I thought they tasted too bitter/licoricey. I try to stay away from most of that stuff now except for the occasional indulgence, but I'm a sucker for Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream.

I started cutting only 3 weeks ago. I've been eating alot still, but it's all clean food. Last night my wife made a box dinner that I used to like, but this time all I could taste was grease. It was so gross after I forced a few bites I had to stop eating it.
So I guess it doesn't take long for taste to change.

Just read the ingredients about an hour after the post, they contain some nastiness, beef fat being one nasty item, if I am going to enjoy a steak it will not be in oil form and I will at least enjoy the idea that it is high in nutrients, I am going to take my remaining twinkies, put a firecracker in each one, and make a really fun sort of grenade.

now that i am all about calorie counting and i check nutrition labels, it amazes me how calorie dense some of the stuff i ate as a kid is. I can see how I was always overweight until now. I used to go to the corner store and get like 4 fudge rounds plus a bag of combos, the big bags. And then i would wash it down with a 2 liter of code red as well. Seeing as I was still eating 3 meals a day lol talk about 6000 calories a day and i didnt even know it. Fudge rounds are about 300 cals a pop plus the whole bag of combos is probably pushing 1500 LOL. Sad thing is we have to pay out the wazoo for clean foods and its like 2 bucks for a 12 pack of fudge rounds at the store hahaha
