Can I get abs in 3 months?

I've got prom coming up in 3 months and then a beach holiday after that, and I want to really reduce my body fat and get faint abs. I'm not talking rock hard 6 packs, I just want it so that I can at least see the line that runs down the middle of my abs.
I'm currently 145lbs and have a 29" waistline. My body fat is 24.3%. All of my bmi and body fat results tell me that I'm exactly average.
Is 3 months a realistic goal?

Edit: I've been on a diet for the past month as well, I forgot to put that in. I'm eating 1100-1300 calories a day, and I've stopped eating crisps, chocolate and foods like takeaways altogether.

Hard to say. If you are genetically predisposed to store fat elsewhere then maybe. If you are battling against your 'problem areas' then it can be a very long drawn out affair to get ab definition.

I find it relatively easy to lose weight round my tummy, I've already lost almost an inch this week. It tends to be my thighs, bum and chest that weight goes to

Go running, do hanging leg raisers, a few other ab workouts, but most importantly is to get your diet on track
    No diet no abs

Maybe it is enough time, maybe it isn't. Does it matter? Get on the program and diet to get yourself there, and if you are only 50% there, or 75% there, or 90% there to your ultimate goal at that time, does it really matter? Won't it all be an improvement?

Or is the thought, well, if I'm not going to get all the way there, no point in even trying.

Pretty horrible advice almost all the way around on this thread. Do not jump right into kettle bell swings.

Ab exercises will not have a great impact

Keep counting calories, eat in a 10%-20% calorie deficit, and do some cardio if you want an extra boost.

Not so bad if you know what you're doing. Kettlebells are great for cardio!
