    I don't think that's too conservative. When I started TM, I had most recently hit 325x5x3 on LP, and I repeated 325 for my first ID. I know others have started close to 10% off their 5RM. Even though I didn't really back it down, I do believe that is the smarter approach, take at least a few weeks to get acclimated to the volume before you're attempting to set new 5RM PR's.

    i'm at like 99% now, at least as far as squats are concerned. the rest is up for grabs if i go for it.

    Texas Method Recovery Day

    Barbell Squat:

    First time doing a recovery day in a while. Very easy, maybe 2 min rest between sets.
    Macenko Bench 6A

    Barbell Bench Press:

    135 lb x 3 reps (+53 pts)
    165 lb x 8 reps (**** pts)
    202.5 lb x 6 reps (+110 pts)

    I took all of last week off from benching due to this cold I can't seem to shake. It really sucks too because I felt like I was just starting to hit a groove at just the right time. I decided to repeat week 6 since 7A calls for 2 triples at 95% and there's no way I'm ready to jump right into that after a week off. The formerly mentioned groove is gone, everything felt off. Just hit my reps and got out of there.

    Yeah that's what I'm hoping for. I felt like I was in a good groove to hit at least 300 at the end of Macenko, hopefully I can get that back within the next few weeks.

    155 lb x 5 reps (+75 pts)

    This was tough as hell, felt like a lot of GM action, but still hit all my reps. I can now officially squat as much as I can deadlift

    Firstly, awesome job on the squat PR!

    I actually have a similar problem when it comes to my heavy sets of squats (although mine looks worse than yours when I look at your video). Do you know if there is a body imbalance which causes this, or is it more of a form issue? I google'd "hips raising faster than chest/shoulders during squats" and "squats turned GMs" multiple times, and have been getting varying results. Care to chime in on this?
