Any of you brah's gonna be reppin S&P tomorrow at your favorite college team's game? Roll Tide. I don't know if this is appropriate but we just lost our football game 40-47 and i'm pissed because we did a onside kick with 1:00 left it didn't go ten yards and I am on the front line so the guy picks the ball up (which makes it live even though it didn't go ten) so then i put my helmet right on the ball it comes out. Our return guy picks it up and goes down. Now the ref won't give it to us because it didn't go ten yards but that doesn't matter since the opposite player touched it first. I knew we could have scored and won sorry i just felt i had to vent somewhere. Feelsbadman.jpg

think I'll get this shirt on that sale:
On an unrelated note, I can't wait to get a job that justifies wearing suits. Switching from nursing to pre-med next year lolLast edited by slapaho; 10-01-2011 at 01:48 AM.

I am going into health administration and I have found that most entry level administrative positions require applicants to be R.N. and to get into the Masters programs in health administration you have to have at least two years of experience in health administration/ leadership role in the industry so depending on how you want to approach health care, a degree in nursing is very versatile. I am doing a Commerce and Psychology degree right now but am planning to apply to do an accelerated nursing program before I go on to graduate school to do either the Masters in Health administration, Masters in Health Informatics or the collaborative CMA/MBA program.
In summation having a degree in nursing is super versatile in the health care industry and I am going to be in school for a long time...

Hey guys, I have an interview Monday morning and have been looking for some shoes, was hoping to find some Allen Edmonds but can't seem to anywhere... What is the consensus on "ecco" shoes? They seemed quite comfortable but I wasn't 100% sold on them.

Dude, black dress shirts are almost always a no. Especially with a suit. Not a good look. Tie doesn't look too good either.
For an interview you would be best served with a classic white shirt if you're going to wear a gray suit like that. A light blue oxford wouldn't be too bad either.

Almost went with white, but I prefer dark colors. My last job was in business and I got the job while after wearing a black dress shirt there. The tie is a matter of opinion, I happen to love it. Oh, it's a good thing you live somewhere cold because everyone would be laughing at you with that tattoo if they saw it. no hate, hope you don't regret it.
Like I said above, I disagree. What do you mean by if you're going to wear a gray suit like that? Gray is the color suit you are supposed to wear to an interview.
Dressing in something that makes you feel confident is more important than following "standard" color choice.

Glad you got the job last time and hope you get the job this time. Would never ever wear a black dress shirt, x10000 with a suit. White would have been a better choice IMO but hope you rocked the interview anyways.
I think he meant that white is a better choice for the grey suit, not that there was anything wrong with the suit.
Agree that you should dress in what makes you confident, but also have to take into account that interviewer's perception really matters.

interview suit basic breakdown:
-navy suit (tailored to fit like a glove - find a GOOD tailor, pay whatever is necessary. fit > price tag on the suit)
-white/light blue shirt, fitted well...but most importantly the sleeve length should be perfect in relation to the navy suit sleeves. don't assume the jacket won't be coming off though, so the shirt should fit well too - never know when you're going to be going to a lunch with a partner, etc.
-red, 100% silk tie
-nice, polished, shoes and matching belt (I prefer brown)
is this the end all be all? no, but if an interviewer happens to be [an asshat and is] judging you based on how you're dressed - this is the most fool proof way to ensure you don't lose "points" for not dressing the part.
in b4 "grey suits are fine too" - I know, so spare me.
now I'm off to continue on with my blackout tailgating, while probably watching my Buckeyes f*ck this game up against the Spartans. good day, brahs.

For the more veteran bros. I have a chance to go study in Australia. It would put me back more money, and I probably wouldn't graduate with the rest of my class, but everyone says studying abroad is an awesome time. Do you think potentially going into debt is a good idea, or should I be more focused on saving like crazy and study here?

I like the suit, man. I have one in almost the same exact shade of gray. The black shirt you wore it with was what I had a problem with. You can ask almost any person with a know-how of wearing suits that black shirts look super tacky. It looks like an outfit some Italian mobster would be wearing in a movie.
You would have looked way more impressive if you just switched to a white dress shirt. Feeling confident wearing whatever you have on is important, but that doesn't mean that every person is going to perceive things the same way. Obviously you had other strengths that got you your previous job, but I can almost guarantee that no one at your last job said, "Wow, that guy knows how to dress."
I probably sound like a prick but like I said 9/10 people that know how to really wear a suit would agree that a black shirt like that was not your best option.
